Super soft and smooth gloves
Pleasantly surprised with these gloves! They are not waterproof, but they are close to it. In my testing water only leaked in through a specific seam between the fingers and at a specific angle. They make good paddling gloves, though I would not wear them when the air temperature is above 60 F, as it can get quite warm. These are thin enough than I can put them in my tiny pfd pocket, so thats a plus from me. My skin is pretty sensitive and I have not yet had a rash while wearing these.

Don’t buy these gloves!
I bought these gloves for a three week packrafting trip in the Gates of the Arctic NP. The gloves did not even come close to keeping my hands dry or warm. They absorbed water like a sponge. This is a terrible product. Thank goodness I bought them at REI and was able to return them.

Great gloves for the wet and cold

Bought this pair of gloves not for paddling, but for hiking in wet and cold weather when soaked fabric is a certainty. I had another pair of the same gloves, but a size smaller, that worked well (I am replacing them after misplacing them). I have skinny hands but got the 2XL for room. Maybe the snug fit is desirable for paddling, but a looser fit is warmer. I tried on a pair of the mittens when I bought my original pair of NRS gloves, but they didn't seem to fit right. I prefer mittens to gloves for the added warmth. I don't recommend these if you can keep your hands dry in your raincoat or poncho. They are for activity where wet hands are inevitable. They would probably be good for snow-caving or ice climbing.

No grip whatsoever

The item description boasts "enhance paddling grip." 100% wrong. I used these today when I was out on the kayak, it was a terrifying experience, there was no grip that I could feel. My (carbon) paddle felt out of control, it just spun against the pressure of the stroke. I had to resort to a death grip to keep it from spinning. Nice lightweight design, but of zero utility. Definitely returning these. Very disappointing,

Just okay on a warm day

They feel warm when you first put them on. Once they get wet, they don't keep your hands warm when the air is in the 40s or 50s. The grip on them is okay but not great.

Great grip and protection from the elements

These gloves kept my hands warm paddling in cold water, provided a good grip, and eliminated the need for sunscreen on my hands. They were a great purchase!
