Good for creeks and quiet water

Takes some getting used to but this is a nice little kayak for quiet water. I'm 6-2 and 210 so it rides low with me and takes on water with a chop. Easy to handle on land. Be patient.

I wanted to love this, but it's just okay. I found it to be unstable and to not track very well. It sits really low in the water. There is no way to drain the water from where you sit, so I had to constantly get out and turn it over to drain it so my feet and seat weren't submerged in water the whole time. My main complaint is that there is no cup holder or space for your stuff. The storage cubby in front of the seat is NOT waterproof. It has stickers that tells you that, but it's pretty much a wasted space. I ended up putting my phone and keys in a waterproof case and secured it to the front of the kayak. I put my cooler on the back after removing the mesh thing that it attached, and that worked fine. For $300, you get what you pay for. It's okay but could be improved with a cup holder and legitimate storage space.

Sitting in a puddle!

This is my family’s first year buying kayaks. I was the only one that bought the Azul brand. It definitely sits lower in the water and takes on water with every little wave. Their kayaks sat up higher and came with drainage holes. They had a nice dry ride. I got to sit in a 4” puddle of water.

This will take on water where the wheel assembly meets the hull. I've used it for almost 4 months and I sink after 50 minutes on the water unless I drain it after about 40 minutes. It's a garbage product.

Garbage. Buy something else

This kayak might be useable in totally calm water. But I doubt it. It is totally unusable in water with even the slightest chop. First, as others have noted, it rides very low in the water and is rather unstable. Second, unlike other sit-on-top kayaks with similar price points, it is not self-bailing, so it just…fills with water. This then makes it even more unstable. Third, it has drain plugs to the interior body cavity that are not water tight and seem to be intentionally placed so that water can easily get inside the body cavity, but is impossible to get out. It really is like the designers were trying to punish you for buying this kayak.

Buy a different kayak

This kayak, quite frankly, is terrible. The kayak takes on so much water, so quickly, and you are constantly having to bale out water every 5 feet. This makes the experience less than enjoyable. Additionally, while taking it out for the FIRST time, the seat padding already started to come apart. I understand this is on the cheaper side of kayaks but it's not even the worth the discount. I will be looking into returning it or getting a refund.

If you are an Adult, more than likely you are going to hate this, my son is 14 and it didn’t took as much water as it did with me, he loved the thing and kept it dry for most of the trip.

Great on calm waters

I have enjoyed using my Azul kayak. It is a fun easy to use kayak. But only on very calm waters. Once it gets choppy this kayak will fill up with water and you will flip if it fills too much. And even if you don't flip you will be sitting in a cockpit filled with water that needs to be constantly bailed. On calm waters the Azul is a pleasure. The only other issue is the seat. It doesn't stay upright. So as you enter the kayak you have to hold the seat back at the same time. But what happens is the seat pops out of the base. Keep a screewdriver handy so you can reattach the seat. This has happened several times. Overall the Azul is a fine kayak in calm water. I will rig something to keep the seat upright, probably a bungee cord. And skip kayaking if the waters look too choppy.
