Great boot. Sizing is too small so order 1-2 sizes Up
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are great boots once you find the right size. The boot first. Great product, feels solid, and I have used them in wet conditions as I live in the Washington state area of the Pacific Northwest. Quality control is good and I got them in perfect condition. Sizing: So I am a size 8.5 regular per the foot measurement tools in shoe stores and own several pairs of various brand of shoes in 8.5. I run a size up at 9.5 for running and sports shoes. Based on the previous reviews some stated to go half to a full size up. I went too conservative and just went half size. Way too small. Luckily they just opened a local Northface store so I went in to try different sizes. 9.5 did not fit (1 full size up). Long story short, 10 didn't fit but 10.5 was just right. That's 2 full sizes up. I uploaded my 8.5 nikes next to the 10.5 to show the size comparison. They line up!! My suggestion, if ordering online, order 2 sizes to try and return or if you can, check out their local store to ensure it fits right. I would still buy these again and would recommend these boots.
Seriously though: order a FULL size up
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Good: These appear to be sturdy, well-made boots. The weatherproofing is keeping me dry in Seattle. I like the style, and even the laces feel premium. If you order the correct size, you'll be happy. The Bad: As many reviewers have noted, these run unusually small. The toe box is WAY too short and too narrow - more so than any boot or shoe I've ever owned. I did order a half-size up (normally a 9.5, purchased a 10) and I still feel the tops and sides of my front foot jammed up against the tops and sides of the boot. I can't be bothered to return them, but I do wish I'd ordered 1 or even 1.5 sizes up. (I do have wider than average feet, but it's honestly the height of the toe box that's the main issue.) Hopefully North Face fixes this. My boots were made before Oct 2023.
Boots received are different than pictured; tight
While the shoe seems well-built, as others have noted, this shoe runs small/narrow. I'm a size 12, standard D width in every shoe from Brooks to Nike to dress shoes, but these were a tight squeeze. On REI's site (and on The North Face's site) the coal brown is pictured having a separate, different color. However, when I received the boot, the rear back of the boot - which appears to be red-ish in the pictures online at The North Face & REI's, is the same matching brown suede as the rest of the boot. This is not a difference in lighting - it's a different color altogether. I'd written to The North Face 2 weeks ago but haven't received a response as of yet. Hopefully others can see the attached pictures and judge for themselves.
Size Up!
I own multiple pairs of TNF winter hiking boots and absolutely love them all so I wasn't surprised by how comfortable these are. These are my first time trying casual wear boots from TNF, however as you would expect they look/feel very high quality especially given the price point compared to many competitor brands that I've tried. The main thing I would highly recommend is to size up at least 1/2 size. These boots definitely run small and even after speaking with multiple store reps they all said the same thing. In almost every pair of TNF boots I've ever owned they are true to size, but I had to actually go a full size bigger which I've never done before. Typically I'm a size 10.5 in all brands but had to order an 11.5 for these. Not a big deal though if you know that before you buy.
Nice looking shoe, poor quality.
I love the look of the shoes and my feet have stayed dry when I've had to walk through snow. Unfortunately I've had the shoes only a month and the tan rubber bottom of the shoes is starting to come off. I've only wore the shoes maybe 14 days total and it's disappointing to spend that much money on a pair of shoes that aren't going to last long.
Please make shoes for feet
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thought these would be perfect commuter shoes for going to the office in fall/winter. Stylish, comfortable, warm, decent tread. But the toe section of these are so narrow, pointed, and not shaped for actual feet. Your pinky toes will be smooshed. Bummer.
My 2nd best TNF insulated boot ever
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wore these great sneaker/boots outside December 23rd in -12 below weather real feel was -25 below while walking for a little over 1 hour walking on ice & snow very cold pavement and my feet & toes never felt the cold, feet stayed dry also. I've worn 200g insulated Columbia boots with omniheat technology and feet would get wet & cold. These NORTHFACE 200g insulation heatseeker sneaker/boots are the best. As long as TNF keep the quality coming with it's boots & other shoes I will never leave astray to another shoe company
Love the design of this shoe!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the design as you can see in the picture. The advice is right. I wear a 8s for Air Force Ones or Retro Jordans; 8.5 for running shoes or other shoes and I had to get a full size up to 9.5 for this one. It may sound crazy but it is extremely narrow that is why. The length is good enough for a half size but unless you go bare foot or wear thin socks, you will need to go full size up. Wear the socks that you intend on wearing when you wear such as wool thick socks for the winter.
Lives up to the name and then some
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At first, I was concerned with the shoe's narrow size. I had an RMA ready and the next day put them on one last time and it was magic. These have blown away expectations and other reviews. I am wearing them right now in fact. These are my go-to boots for Wisconsin's unpredictable weather. Warm in below temps to upper 70s with no complaints. The quality is what you expect from North Face. I have put these to the test and they have never failed once. It is the perfect fit and for the reviews, they are too tight - I wear smart wool socks in them daily. I would buy another pair if these ever quit on me in a heartbeat.
A must get if your shredding this season.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow, I picked this up during Black Friday deals and I'm in Tahoe right now. This was definitely worth it. Wore it all though truckee as my daily's for my vacation shredding haha and held up great in snow and around town. I'd recommend this for your next snow trip. Highs 40 degrees and low 20s in the night. Kept me completely warm and cozy, with no water in shoes issues.
