Ok skate ski boots

I have skied in these boots twice. Upon first use, I have noticed a few things: 1) the zipper is not easy to get all the way up. I have very small ankles and am not able to get the zipper more than 3/4 of the way zipper until 10 or 15 minutes after I’ve started skiing. It does raise some concerns about the durability of the zipper. 2) these boots are VERY bulky. They look and feel very clunky compared to other skate boots. Stock is very limited everywhere right now, so I settled for these because it’s the only thing I could find in my size. However, I prefer Salomon or Rossignol in terms of quality and fit. Will see how they hold up after more use.

Comfortable boot, cheap construction

I wanted to love these boots as an affordable option for skate skiing. Skate boots are quite expensive, but you get what you pay for because Fischer cut corners to deliver this boot at a more affordable price. They're padded and comfortable, with a wider fit, true to most Fischer boots I've worn or tried on. I was optimistic that they'd keep my feet warm for recreational skiing, but never made it to the trails because the construction quality wasn't great. The biggest flaw is the cheap zippers: unless you take great care to slowly, carefully zip them just right the zippers split open across the top of the foot. They show strain even when zipped perfectly, which doesn't inspire confidence in their ability to last through a workout. I didn't want to risk taking these out on the trail only to find myself struggling to fix stuck zippers or dealing with boots full of snow. $200 may be a good price for skate boots but it's still a lot of money for a boot that doesn't zip properly.

Purchase at your own risk

My first time wearing these boots the zipper broke. I'd love to say I was out on the trails crushing, but we are talking 15 minutes in... I do not recommend this boot.

Zipper broke after 5 uses

I wish the other reviews were available when I decided to buy these, because I had the same experience - I wore them 5 times (30-60 minutes/time) and the zipper separated at the bottom. So they are going back. On the upside, the fleece cuff was comfy, I liked the loop at the back that makes them easy to pull on, and they seemed to be more waterproof than the Solomons I bought to replace them.

Broken zipper after 4 uses :(

Ankle support for skate skiing is lacking, but the main issue is that the zipper broke after only 4 uses. Same issue as other reviewer. Agree that it’s risky to assume these will survive a workout.

Very poor quality, waste of money

These lasted me one season and then the zipper broke beyond repair. I am fairly gentle on my ski gear and was very disappointed to spend >$200 on something that fell apart so quickly.

Great: warm and comfortable

I dont' know why these boots are rated so terribly. I have been using them for about 2.5 years and love them so much. They are very comfortable and warm, and I learned to skate fast with these boots. Some of my friends have thicker calves, and they struggle to fit in some regular skate boots. If you have bigger calves, you may not like them, but the quality is great.
