Ridiculously long shoe laces for a shoe
Not sure why KEEN insists on including long shoe laces for a shoe. I have to double tie them, otherwise the shoes become untied during walking. Once double tied, one has to be careful how to pull on them so you don't end up using your teeth to untie them.
Not
These are not the same os the similar looking Keen Oxford I bought at the Seattle REI 15 years ago. Toe box is smaller. The generous toe box is the reason I buy Keens. But no longer. I hate the pair I bought 6 mos ago at the Albuquerque REI. I know, available in wide now. I don’t want an overall wider shoe. Just the generous toe box
Oh oh
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great shoes, comfortable and really stylish. Unfortunately I had to return them because of factory issues. Second return in a row, as the previous pair had to be replaced with these ones. I'd like to believe I was only really bad luck, as Keene shoes fit me perfectly. Hopefully QC will be extra careful from now on.
Wonderful Shoe
Gorgeous, comfortable, supportive shoe. I already owned two pairs of the regular Targhee II, but wanted something a little bit more dressy and appropriate for regular casual wear. This was it. The "dark earth" color is dark and rich. The shoes don't sport the extra strapping that the regular hiking shoes have; it is a simpler, cleaner look. I wear a 9.5 in dress shoes and a 10 in athletic shoes, so purchased all three of my Keens in 10 M, and they fit perfectly. Nice wide toe box. The heel area isn't quite as secure on the Targhee III Oxford as the regular Targhee II (this one isn't really a hiking shoe), but I'm not experiencing any problems.
Comfortable, but already falling apart
Soles starting to peel away from show after only a couple of months of wear. Great looking shoe and very comfortable, but fall apart quickly.
Look good, great for dirt or concrete
Wow, super comfortable and good looking shoes! I love Keens anyway, these weren't available in my local store so order them and very happy. The one odd thing, they're a bit loose fitting, but the laces easily glide through the holes and they snug right up with a tug. Makes them super easy to slip on or off without a fight plus decent foot support inside (not great, they still want to sell you insoles). Great for the trail or around town.
Great everyday shoes!
I bought these shoes for my husband’s birthday, and he loved them immediately with no break-in period. He needs shoes with strong arches and a good grip; these are perfect!
Shoe Review
As we get "Older" our feet physically change, and many people forget this little fact... I am 61, and have learned the hard way, in that I don't wear "Dress Shoes" very often. When I put on some shoes I have not worn in Months, sometimes I can tell the difference between "Comfortable and NOT SO Comfortable". I love how the Keen Footwear uses the "Box Toe" concept, or a variation of this design... It really makes a difference for those like myself who appreciate the comfort factor when wearing shoes for extended periods of time. KUDOS, to your Company and staff for designing shoes that many people like myself enjoy wearing.
Nice shoe
I bought these online after first trying on Keens previously at an REI store. They fit fine although it’s taken a little experimentation to find the correct combination of insole and my orthotics. I’m not using the well padded insole that came with the shoe. That said, these are a nice Oxford for walking around town. They are also heavy. Thick leather uppers combined with a meaty sole. Both my wife and I like the very dark brown color.
crappy laces
I ordered these since I am now working in a visitor center and needed something more formal than a hiking boot. I have been wearing keens for years, did Half Dome twice, John Muir and wear them everyday when working at the NP in the back country. This is the first time I have a problem. These shoes will not stayed tied. I have double knotted them, consistently re-tighten them and can seem to walk a short distance without one of them becoming untied. These are suppose to be for urban wear and I shouldn't have to consistently re-tie them. The laces are coated with some shiny material, so after a month of daily wear and went and bought some cloth laces, much better
