Fantastic boots!
It finally snowed in WI! I needed a good pair of boots for running errands, but also wanted something that would work for walking in the local nature conservancy in cold and snowy weather. These boots are perfect for that. They're not tall enough to be practical in great depths of snow, but perfect for everything short of that. The Keen footbed is perfect for me, good room in the toe box, and the support is great. They fit like a glove. They run true to size, whereas it seems Merrells are running a half size short these days. I also like the fact that Keens have 200g insulation, rather than 100g. Highly recommend.
Chelsea boots
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The boots are very comfortable and look great. This is my second pair, the first I used as work boots for a year so far and are holding up fantastic. I have wide feet and they fit exactly as expected. They are fairly warm in cold weather and not too hot in the warmer months. Would I buy again? No question!
Be Prepared To Work For It
The good is that I've worn them for a few weeks now and my feet are consistently dry and warm. The soles are grippy enough, and the quality seems good. They also look great. That being said, they are truly tight. I went up half a size based on the reviews and I probably could have gone up a full size. They don't feel narrow, but small allover. If I had gotten my regular size I wouldn't have been able to get my feet in. They are quite stiff. I blasted them with a blowdryer while wearing thick socks (which was extremely difficult to get in the boots) around the house first and that helped but it still took a lot to soften them up. You really have to work for it!
Small farm tough??
I bought these after seeing how they held up for a coworker in the veterinary field who also lives on a small farm like I do. The fit is true to size for boots made to wear with boot socks. My biggest frustration with farm footwear is that all the boots I have tried made from a combination of neoprene, plastic and EVA type material always crack where the foot flexes, usually in less than 10 months of wear. These have leather uppers and the Keen website has good recommendations for products to use to keep these flexible and maintain the waterproofing. We'll give them a try.
Solid shoes
The lighter part of the sole is ugly, but otherwise the shoes look great. You can step into them without pulling them up at the back if your socks aren't totally massive. They started out feeling a little tight at the widest part of my foot, but this feeling has gone away. They do, however, rub on your leg so that you need pants INSIDE the books, or socks longer than the top of the boots to wear them. That's not too big a deal, since I bought these to wear for my winter shoes, but... sometimes I just want to run to the corner store and don't want to have to change my socks.
Perfect Farm Boot!
I'm on my feet all day, running my farm, and my inferior muck boots were wrecking my poor feet. I'd resorted to wearing my old Keen hiking boots but really wanted something I could pop on and kick off in my multiple trips in and out of the house during the day. Laces were definitely a problem. These are perfect. My feet are so happy, especially once I replaced the insoles with ones for plantar fasciitis. I wish they were a tad taller though as I tend to get animal bedding in them but otherwise cannot recommend these enough. My feet are a large size 9 and I usually get 9 1/2 in Keen hiking boots. The 9 1/2 in these feel a bit smaller than I expected but still work ok.
Impossible to put on
I bought both boots Targhee II Chelsea (everyday use) and Greta Waterproof Chelsea (winter), size 8, at the same time hoping to keep both. While Targhee II fits to size (also light and comphy, easy to take on/off), Greta was near to impossible to put on; the foot had trouble going through the opening shaft. I have slim feet and have nearly dislocated an ankle trying to take Greta off, while wearing a thin cotton sock. Greta is a lovely looking boot but it fits small by half or ne size due to thicker inside lining, and the shaft/opening design is truly strange. Sadly I still have no winter slip-on boots I like.

Great!
I like these a lot. I needed a black pair, a couple years ago I made the mistake of buying the Betty’s and because of the stupid cut out on the other side of the zipper those pull my socks down making everything extremely uncomfortable. I have a brown pair of Greta’s and I Love them so I decided to get the black ones and I’m hopeful once I break them in that they’ll be as comfy as the pair I’m wearing! I’ve noticed the top of these are a little uncomfortable so that’s what needs to be broken in. Great shoe that lasts a long time, even when wearing them almost daily for 2 years! These run true to your size.
Stiff (unyielding) and sized wrong
I desperately wanted to love these boots. I wore them around the house for 2 days. They are just not right. I’ve been a diehard keen fan for 20 years. But I think they have changed, judging by similar reviews. The pair I bought 15 years ago stayed waterproof for 10 years! Even in ice and snow. I got sick of the style before the boots ever wore out. I got another pair 2 years ago. They already are falling apart and have sprung a leak on the side. The old pairs used to feel like they were made for my feet. Now they feel as if they were made for something other than feet altogether. Especially the width of where the ball of the foot rests. Just too narrow (and I have narrow feet).

Great boot for slushy, snowy, muddy weather
Best purchase I've made in a long time- comfortable, warm without being too hot, great traction, good in snow/slush/mud but also ok for a day at my desk. I work for a park system in the Great Lakes and I was looking for something I could wear all day, indoors and out, instead of my big winter boots but warmer than my summer sneakers. I did not expect to love these as much as I do, but I can wear them all day and my feet stay warm, dry, and I have great traction on icy/snowy trails.
