Faulty insulation and narrow forefoot

2 stars because I like the style and the leather appears to be good quality. But…..they run narrow in the forefoot which I found to be uncomfortable, and I have average to narrow feet. If I had bought them .5 size larger, they would have been too loose in the heel. The dealbreaker for these boots were that my feet were freezing in them. Literally my toes were numb just walking my dog in Portland, OR where it is not very cold. I have worn regular Blundstones for years without any insulation (which are much warmer than these) and I was looking for a cold weather insulated boot. I felt like these trapped the cold in the boot instead of keeping in the warmth.

Right shoe is more loose than the left

I noticed that the right shoe is more loose than the left. Its opening is wider and my foot feels less snug. This is causing problems. It is very unfortunate because the boots have great traction in snow and icy mix. Its warmth and waterproof performs very well for Chicago winters. I am returning them and ordered directly from the brand site to see if there is a low quality issue I have encountered in few times with products bought in REI.

Too narrow and no cushion

I miss the Kaci slip on boots. I feel in love with my first pair which I must’ve found right before they were over. I scoured the internet and bought two more pairs to put away. 6 years later I fianll laid the last pair to rest and tried the Greta as a replacement. These are so narrow and uncomfortable! I don’t have wide feet but have gotten used to a wide toe box and I’m not sure how this is considered “original fit” as it feels snug and small. I even went up a half size. Maybe a whole size would’ve been better but my feet still ache at the end of the day even with my custom orthotic inserts. Please Keen, bring back the Kaci slip on boots!

Portland perfect!

This comfortable and attractive boot is just what I needed walking around Portland this winter going into sprinter. No puddle is too deep for my Greta Chelsea! My only issue was inadequate arch support, for ME, but once I put in an orthotic, it became my shoe to take on anything out there in Soggy Land.

Even Better Than The Original.

I bought these for work to replace my original Gretas. I was excited about the redesigned sole because I had a separation problem on all three of those pairs (one in each color and despite that problem I still wore them regularly because I love the utilitarian look). I have had the Greta II for about a week and so far, so good. None of those same issues have appeared yet. They are comfortable work wear for being on my feet on concrete floors all day. I think I even prefer the new color options, as they have a richer, more traditional leather look and feel to them. I will be buying one pair in each color eventually, just as I did with the original Gretas.

Perfect Seattle boots

I’ve been looking for a comfortable, good looking, waterproof, and protective bootie with good traction for a few years now. The Keen Greta 2 fit the bill. I wear 8.5 in a keen Newport sandal but needed a 9 in these boots, as the 8.5 was too short. I have low volume feet so would have preferred the feel of the 8.5, because the 9 felt noticeably bigger in volume. But I removed the footbed and I added my own Superfeet insert and a thin Dr Scholls foam layer under that to make up for the extra volume. The foam layer addition also works well with the Included Kern footbed for this purpose. A perfect boot for life in Seattle. Loved it so much caught the other colors via REI coupon or sale. (Ps the olive color is olive drab, not as green as the Keen photo.)

Perfect Chelsea

I have been waiting for YEARS for Keen to bring back the Providence Chelsea (my absolute favorite Keen for all the decades I have been wearing Keens), and these Greta IIs fit the bill. Straight out of the box, they fit perfectly, are oh-so-comfortable and look great. The olive color is lovely and will go with absolutely everything. Do I sound gushy? Probably. But when you get to be my age (old) and have a hip issue and find a pair of shoes that makes you feel good, it is definitely something to gush about. The toe box is narrower than the Providence, so I ordered 1/2 size up so I could accommodate a thicker sock; my regular size would have worked too, so I have to say they are true to size.

Hands down, the best boots around!

I love these boots so much and they are perfect for my life on the farm. This is a replacement pair for a pair that is about 10+ years old. The soles and leather are still perfect, but the fabric around the ankle is worn out on that pair. I cannot believe how well they aged with almost daily use - walks, in the garden, in the snow & rain, etc. They are weatherproof and sturdy. I also bought them in black a few years ago, that is how much I love them. The black ones are my 'dress boots' and I wear them all over town. I've had numerous folks ask me what brand they are since they look so great.

Feet hurts (even with my own high arch insoles)

I really wanted them to work because at first glance the traction on snow is excellent, they are very warm for freezing temps, felt comfortable and stylish. However, now my feet hurts (even with my own high arch insoles I usually wear with other shoes). It has been causing trouble in the arch, heel and hamstrings over very short walks around the city. They feel like there is too much room inside if I decide to wear not so thick socks. Expensive boots for not being able to use more than a 15 mins walk. If the footbed were more effectively cushioned that would be great. Returning.

Worth it!

Comfortable right out of the box. Keeping my feet warm and dry in my everyday running around. I was able to get rid of multiple winter boots and replace them with just these. Versatile and looks good with many different outfits.
