Better than I couldve imagined
These are my new go-to tights... At first I was concerned about the lack of zipper at the bottom but its turned out to be an incredible benefit to not having it there. The opening stays fit flush to the leg and easily fits over socks. There is no weird bunching or rubbing from a zipper. The pockets on this are FOR REAL. They hold everything from phones to nutrition, but what I've been using them for (and successfully might I add) is to hold a soft flask of water. These are a versatile workhorse that have function and utility for days. The sustainability and humanitarian efforts that Janji focus on paired with the quality of these tights make this purchase a no brainer... and one im going to make again in the near future.
Comfy, snug and tons of storage
Never seen non-black mens running tights to had to purchase (had to had to). Nice fabric, almost ridiculously big and stretchy pockets down the hips to the quads. Could fit a huge phone, gloves, snacks, a kitten and some maracas in there. 5ft 9in 165 and small fit perfectly. Pleasantly snug on the calves and quads and some more room in the hips/groin. Very nice indeed.
Excellent Running Tights
These are without a doubt the best running tights that I own. I use them for both street running, and trail running throughout the cold and rainy winter. They fit like a glove, and are incredibly comfortable. Note on fit: I'm 6'2", and 162lbs, with thicker legs; I use size L pants, and size M shirts from this brand.
The pockets!!
I'm a big believer in having plenty of pockets available while on my runs and the Groundwork Tights seriously deliver! I don't think I've ever seen men's tights with more than just a back zipper pocket. The main side pockets are nice and deep, so I can cram a lot in there and be certain I'm not going to lose any of it, and the smaller side pockets are great for storing a gel or tissues so they don't get buried under my gloves or hat when I get warm - those can go in a separate pocket! The rear pocket is great for gloves or gels and would probably hold an extra layer securely too. The interior front pocket is perfect for keys - it's great to have a secure spot for them so I don't worry about accidentally pulling them out with something else. The warmth is great too! They kept me cozy and comfortable on a cold day in NYC, yet were not too warm that I got uncomfortable on a warmer winter day. I really appreciate the double-lined front panel as well. I felt comfortable running shorts-less without worrying about weirding folks out. Definitely a necessity for tights with so many pockets.
Excellent but make sure you review the size chart
I normally wear 34 waist and 32 length. I ordered a large after reviewing the size chart from the Janji website (despite 2 people asking REI still has not added it). Perfect length and waist fit but I think most runners would want to go medium in my circumstance to get a little tighter. I didnt because of the reviews of the short draw string and Im ok not having skin tight fit.
Great winter tights
These tights work great for a typical winter in New York. It was ideal for temperatures around 32 F. They are definitely tights and form fitting, but not as tight as what I would typically classify as "compression" gear. That means it was much more comfortable for me to put on most of the time, and there was not as much pressure on your muscles. When sizing, I would definitely recommend going with the waist size as the waist does not adjust as well, even with the drawstring. Other areas such as the hip and thighs will stretch fine. I initially ordered a Large, because I have large thighs and often have to size up, however, with these tights, I ordered a Medium, which fits my waist size (32").
Comfortable leggings with great pockets
These are extraordinarily comfortable. I find they’re most comfortable in the 25°F to 55°F range, but even mid 60s are OK. I feel OK wearing them without the need for shorts on top.
All around great!
I really enjoy these. Super comfy, warm, and they look good too. Nice price point against brands like Lululemon too. Very highly recommend if you’re looking at buying tights for any reason, not just running.
No complaints
Really happy with these tights after a few runs. Nice weight and fit. I’ve stayed comfortable at ~30F and would be happy to go lower. Pockets hold my phone tight but accessible and I have room to stuff a buff and gloves if needed.
Unfortunately too short
Size ordered: Large. I’m 6’2”, 170lbs. and unfortunately these came just to the top of my 6” running/cycling socks. Great fabric and pockets but I need them to be longer for New England winters. I’ll be returning them.
