Impossible to get on
The shaft/angle into the actual foot bed is so narrow it is impossible to get these on an actual child’s foot. Maybe it’s possible to get them on if your kid is big enough to help by stepping into the boot, but for a toddler’s floppy foot - no way. Anyone who knows what it’s like to get multiple kids ready to go out in the snow will understand how frustrating it is to deal with something like boots that won’t just slide on. I feel like this is basically a sculpture of a boot that was made to admire from afar.
Wrong size chart
Watch out. I ordered a size 7 expecting a European size 38 (per sizing chart) for my tall 11 yo boy and instead received an infant/toddler size 7.
Wrong sized
These are sized incorrectly. It's listed as 4 Kids but and they are 4 Toddler instead.
So hard to get on
These boots are a nightmare. They might be fine if your child can get them on himself, but my 2yo needs help and these are so difficult to put on. They don’t unlace or open up much. We had a cheap target pair that were better than this. Maybe they’re warm. No idea. Not worth it. Wish I could return but the kid has worn them outside.
Mislabeled sizing
These boots are mislabeled. I ordered a 4 kids and was sent an infant/toddler size 4. I paid an arm and a leg in expedited shipping in order to get them before a snowstorm, so now I'm out that money and my kid has no boots to play in our one snow in the south. Ordered 4 kids for my daughter and were normal kid-sized boots.
Way too narrow. Does not fit toddler foot.
Impossible to put on my toddlers foot. She wears size 5 in other styles so I ordered a size up and there’s no way I can even get these on her foot. I wanted to return them but I lose money because they charge you to return them, you eat the cost of shipping. I was irritated about that so I doubt I will order from them again. It’s so hard to know how a shoe is going to fit a toddler. I can’t even give these boots away.
Warm and easy to put on
Just bought these last week for my 7 year old daughter. She's really happy with them and can get them on and off herself. They arrived just in time for our massive winter snowstorm in Chicago. With 10 inches of snow, she had no problem with leaking or freezing toes. This is the first time we didn't do the traditional "big" snow boot since Chicago often has the wetter snow. So far, I'm really pleased with the decision.
Super light and easy to wear!
These are great for my 2.5 (almost 3) year old. They’re very lightweight and low-profile, not as bulky as a lot of other snow boots but still warm and very functional. We love how easily they slip on and off. For us, we have to use a pretty thin sock; there is not a lot of extra space. This is fine, but if you wanted to use a thicker sock for very cold temps I would size up half a size.
Thank you for your helpful review!
Great for playing in the snow.
It’s a good looking boots, a bit narrow for what I was looking for and it might run small which is tricky for a 3yo to tell, but that’s what it looks and feels like. It did the job of staying on during snow play which other boots didn’t and that’s a big plus for me. I only gave four stars because I was expecting a not so narrow boots.
Like a cast!
I ordered size 4 in these boots for my little one and they were the stiffest things every! They were like a cast. There was no way I would even be able to get them on her little feet. Maybe the larger sizes are better but cramming this amount of material into size 4 just didn't work. Such a bummer from Merrell.
