This just might be the perfect lightweight, 4 season (for most people) tent. It's easy to put up, the vestibules are massive, the headroom is unmatched, and there are tons of innovations here that elevate the tent from great to one of the best. I love how there are separate stuff sacks for the tent body and rain fly. This keeps the tent body cleaner and dryer when the weather is bad out. Also, it's much easier to pack out in less ideal conditions, since you don't have to fold and roll everything together. The stuff sacks turning into interior pockets is also ingenious. As for the light bar? Yeah we'll never be using that thing. The full fabric interior also traps in heat and keeps the weather out. My wife and I camped out in the Catskills with 8" of snow overnight, and the tent held up like a champ. Some people complain about the rain fly leaking when it rains, but we just zipped it up completely without any issues. There was of course some condensation on the interior walls but that's expected. We have yet to try out the venting and air flow, but will do so this summer. I've had many different tents and this is easily my favorite. Yes it's expensive, but I have no doubt this will last for years to come.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Spacious not to heavy warm in cold weather would not use it for summer great winter tent easy set up
First trip with this tent was in March at Mount Whitney, where I set up camp for two nights at 11,500 feet. With the windchill, temperature dropped to -10 degrees. I was pretty warm the whole night, even with a sleeping bag that was rated for about 15 degrees. Performed as expected. Even with the vents open, there was still a good amount of condensation that froze on the inside, but all-in-all, it was a minimal amount. Tent is pretty intuitive. Easy to set up and break down once you go through it once or twice. The hook method is so awesome, and the additional fly is a great addition. This is standard for tents but the general rule of thumb is "a two-person tent is good for one person, and a three-person tent is good for two people." I would say this holds true. I would have a very hard time fitting three men in the tent, but two was extremely comfortable with some wiggle room at the feet for gear. I'm no reviewer by any means, but this tent was awesome and to me, worth the money. Looking forward to heavily utilizing it in the future and seeing how it performs in the summer.
I had the opportunity to use the Telos Plus Freestanding Ultralight Tent over President's Weekend in Colorado, at an elevation of 12,000 feet with plenty of snow. It even snowed about 3 inches during the trip. On the positive side, the tent's lightweight design impressed me, as did the innovative multiple-stuff sacks, making it highly portable and organized. Its ease of setup was notable, and it successfully kept me dry inside with almost no condensation, a commendable feat under the snowy conditions. However, my experience wasn't without its drawbacks. Disappointingly, during my first use, I discovered a hole in the tent's floor. Given that I was on snow, I don't believe I caused the cut. This issue likely points to the material's extreme thinness, which, while understandable in the pursuit of minimizing weight, should not come at the expense of basic durability, such as maintaining an intact tent floor. Having lived in Colorado and Utah my entire life, engaging in activities like hunting and mountaineering across all seasons, this is the first time I've encountered a tent floor cutting open. This incident marks a significant concern for me regarding the material's durability and the tent's overall reliability in rugged conditions.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Two person set up is easy and quick. 1 person a little trickier, but I got the tent for 2 person camping anyways. One night was 17 and it stayed warm enough to keep the water unfrozen. We had condensation that night. Next night we opened all 3 vents and had no condensation, a little colder but our water was slushy, not frozen solid. Overall I’m very pleased. They did send me the wrong sized foot print, but that’s not really a quality issue. Overall I like it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had to substitute my 25 years old TNF VE-25, and already owning a Telos TR1 and knowing the quality of the product, I made the decision to purchase m y new family tent. While in Patagonia the TR1 stood still in very high winds. With the TR3 I only had the chance to go through a storm where it poured 150mm of rain in one night. Not a single drop of water entered inside the tent. Awesome product, very well though and designed.
I purchased this tent to replace another tent which was damaged. This is my first Sea to Summit tent. Two weeks ago, I spent a week in the Wind Rivers where it rained non stop for 24 hours. I was swimming in a veritable pool of water and the tent did not leak on bit. I have attached a video because It was that impressive.
Extremely well made tent. Very easy to set up, several innovative features (light bar, stuff sacks are extra storage, gear loft is a must). The Plus is much beefier than the regular and is far better suited for slightly colder/winder environments. Even though the tub is extra durable, the footprint is also a must.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the packing system; it is easy to share with someone or only bring the necessary. The tent has Excellent Ventilation and is lightweight. So far, it seems great quality, but I haven't been through a giant storm yet. It's spacious for a two-person tent and very warm.
Most tent in the market too short for me. Tr3 is enough for me and my sleeping bag is not contact with tent. But i hate fairshare system. Bags too small for comfort place wet tent and poles. And i want additional mesh tent but its not sold separately(
