How to Choose a Backpacking Tent

This version of the Sea to Summit Telos tent retains its great airflow and space but with better weather protection. Low-stretch fabric yields a tighter pitch with less moisture absorption.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve only set this up in my living room to check out the hardware and the ventilation. I’m liking the door orientation and one handed zipper operation. The fastener at the corners of tent seem a bit under thought. The pole end doesn’t actually lock into the tab but just sits in there, could have made the outer part a smaller hole to snug around the pole end. The cross pole roof support that snaps into the c shaped tab I feel like could have been simplified with simple single hole grommet. I feel like the c piece eventually will spread apart and wear out. The ventilation at the highest point of tent looks more then adequate which is why I have been tent shopping, condensation is the biggest problem for me. The vent unzips but is sewn to the top side instead of to bottom which would allow it to fall out of the way. Currently it opens but the flap hangs in the way of the ventilation hole making the process not very efficient. Needs a piece of Velcro or something to hold the flap out of way to allow air flow through. Almost a good idea just poor execution. Not sure how this was not realized during product development
Nice tent. Difficult to set up in a timely manner. Also a little heavy for backpacking.
