Great pair of lightweight gloves
Immediately after receiving these gloves I wore them walking the streets around my home in Chicago and they kept my hands warm even when temperatures dipped into the teens. I later took them backpacking in Indiana and they performed equally well out on the trail. Probably the best feature of these gloves is their very large range of temperature comfort. The material is breathable enough to wear on warmer days in the alpines but will also keep you cozy and dry when everything else around you is frozen. And because they are so lightweight and fit so snugly, you can tie knots, pack up your gear, and do a myriad other things with ease. There were several times when I forgot I even had them on. The pre-curved fingers are another nice addition. The pre-curve is designed to help climbers hang on to their ice tools, but when I took these gloves backpacking, this feature helped me grip my trekking poles and made for an all-around more comfortable hike. I'll probably take these gloves with me when I climb Mt. Whitney's Mountaineer's Route this July as well as when I climb Mt. Rainier in 2023. When I first got the gloves they were a little difficult to put on and so snug that I had trouble making a fist. However, after a couple of days of wear they loosened up and the fit was pretty much perfect. Black Diamond / REI might consider warning customers that these gloves could require a short breaking-in period. My only real complaint is that these gloves are still a little difficult to put on, mainly because of the cuff. This is by no means a dealbreaker for me, but I think it would be helpful for Black Diamond to add some more elastic to the cuff to make it easier to slip over the base of your palm. One more recommendation: I'm not a huge fan of the lime green logo. I have three pairs of other Black Diamond gloves and the logo on all of them is white, which I like better. This is a small thing, but if I were deciding between this and another pair of gloves, the lime green logo might sway me to the latter.
Quality gloves.
These are quality gloves. They have been warm despite not being too bulky and the leather palms give them good grip. Great for use with trekking poles. It's helpful that they are not too big and there is no gauntlet to get in the way of the straps. As a minor annoyance, they have a clip on the side to link the gloves together. This is a feature that I don't use and just gets in the way with straps. They would be easy enough to remove with a pair of scissors. The back of the thumb is covered with a nice soft area for wiping sweat off your forehead or nose. No touch pad for phone use. The water resistance has been good. I wouldn't use them as a primary kayaking glove but they would work in a pinch.
My new favorite back country touring glove!
These lightweight gloves are great for a mild winter or spring day on the slopes and are the perfect backcountry touring glove. The articulated fingers make it easy to mess around with the latches and screws for assembling and disassembling my Splitboard and managing gear, zippers and other things that require agile fingers. I also really like the fact that they have A low profile wrist closure. It makes it really easy to Interface with any coat but they also fit fit over my wrist gaitors. These wouldn’t be the gloves I would take out on a heavy storm day, but for touring when your hands are warm and you also need your fingers to move freely, these are absolutely perfect. I have these in the women’s small and they were a tad long in the fingers, if they make a women’s extra small I think they would fit perfect.
Super Warm and Dextrous!
These gloves are really well made and the design language is really well thought out. The leather on the palms are well constructed and the suede on the thumbs is super soft for wiping your nose/face. The inside of the glove is lined and is very comfortable while the backside of the glove is impervious to wind. Overall, a very well constructed, well thought through glove. I've worn these out on the trail for hikes, taking the kids sledding, and for some random outside chores (shoveling, cleaning the yard, etc.). I was surprised at how I was able to keep my dexterity while still wearing a very warm glove. I didn't have to take them off to tie my son's shoe, to zip up my daughter's jacket, or to divy out the snacks on our hikes. All of the warmer gloves I have would have to be removed before doing such things. Not so with these! The only small issue I have with the gloves is that the wrist band is a little unforgiving if you're wearing a watch. That's not an issue with the design as the glove functions as it should. Just a personal thing as I have to loosen up my wrist strap on my watch in order to move it below the wrist strap area of the glove (as seen in the second photo). All in all, though, I would absolutely recommend these gloves for anyone looking for a high quality, waterproof and windproof glove that can be used in a bunch of situations that allow you to maintain your dexterity. By far these are the best gloves I've ever owned.
Perfect mid-weight glove
This is the perfect glove for me for typical days ice climbing or skiing in and out of bounds. I’ve also done a fair amount of mixed climbing with them and they have a nice mix of dexterity and warmth. I have around 50 days of use with them and they haven’t really worn much at all (I do regularly treat the leather with Hestra glove oil), and they have never once let my hands get wet. Great job, BD!

Best light insulated gloves for ice climbing
These thing are sweet. On my second pair and if I had not burnt holes in them from being to close to buddy heater I would still be on my first pair. Dexterity for grabbing screws and sinking them to attaching draws and clipping they allow you to feel through every move. They do not puff up and create over gripping pressure combine with the pre-curve fingers man the best gloves. Have had them in 0° and had not had to switch gloves between leading and at belay. Waterproof, grippy leather and even a a spot to wipe your nose. A must have in your kit. I have camp geckos as well and came back to these killer. They will keep you saying I'll Be Back.
Black Diamond holds up
When buying any type of gear, I pay attention to the stitching and quality of materials used. These gloves were made to last. In the weeks I used them, not a single loose threads was seen, as they are durable. Not once did my hands get sweaty or cold. The breathable technology worked great. They fit fantastic, as I was able to do small task from tying my shoe to making knots. Most gloves I’ve experienced get in the way and have to be taken off at some point. Not the Terminators. Not only are they functional in every aspect you would expect, they are stylish. I’ve gotten complaints every time another person has seen them. I am very impressed by Black Diamond but not surprised as they make quality equipment. That is how you create loyal customers.
Nice light weight gloves
I really like these gloves overall. They are light weight, very comfortable, and surprisingly warm for the weight. The construction and fit is spot on leaving a lot of dexterity without bulky material to get in the way. I think these would be great ice climbing gloves, but I've yet to test them that way. I used these mainly when hiking in <0 F weather and they kept my hands comfortable(not too warm or too cold) when exertion was high. When not moving around much I did notice my hands would get a bit cold, but I think it just may have been too cold for the temperature rating(20F minimum according to tag). They are also great driving gloves! The only things I could do without are the clips to join the gloves together and the bright logo, but those are hardly worth griping much about. I would 100% recommend these gloves. However, if you expect really cold weather have some kind of other glove / over-mitt for low-exertion downtime.
Really flexible and versatile
While I have ice climbed in the past, I used these while working on a farm in winter. I really appreciated the dexterity they gave me while still keeping my fingers warm enough to function. The cold already reduces my finger movement, the addition of gloves usually makes my maneuverability worse but these helped! And a handle loop so I could beener them to my jacket without worrying that I'd lose them.
Back of the hands get a little cold
Took the gloves out ski touring on a chilly day and the grip was awesome but the back of my hands were getting pretty cold. Stoked to take them ice climbing though when I'll need the grip
