excited to try this as my main glove
as i look to replace an old burton mitten. i havent used them yet but im expecting great things. i took these over the Legend gloves eventhough the Legend fit better, these i think are rated for colder temperatures. i say i think bc BD has 2 different temp ratings for these. . . on the same web page! lol they say they are rated for 0-15F and then elsewhere on web page say -5-25F. they have heavier permaloft insulation than the Legend gloves and have more girth so im hoping these cover me down to the -5/0F area. we''ll see. my hands are 8. 6in lpong and 9. 2in circumference. i also review Dirt Bag, Tour, Legend gloves.
Warm and functional
Well made leather glove for very cold conditions. Very good warmth to weight ratio. The fit provides great freedom of movement.
Great ski gloves
Soft materials inside, these feel really nice while wearing. Great dexterity, up there with my Arcteryx Fission SVs, but these are way tougher. Warmth is good for a cuff-style glove. The cuff is fairly tight, and they can be hard to get on if your hands aren't perfectly dry... Waterproofing is good, but I did manage to soak them on a very rainy day. Really appreciate the padding, which significantly lessened a hand injury when I whacked a tree. Consider extending it down the thumb in a future version?
Cold Weather Essential
For cold days when you need the dexterity of gloves look no further than the Black Diamond Impluse glove. Gore-Tex to keep you dry plus primaloft to keep your hands warm, but strategically placed so you can maintain dexterity. These gloves are designed to go under your jacket or parka but they are on the longer side which definitely keeps the snow out and helps retain warmth. The hand entrance is just a bit on the snug side. If you NixWax the brown color they will definitely darken.

Warm and Cozy
Just finished a full day skiing with these gloves, and they’re super soft and comfortable, and just look great. I’ve never had good gloves in my 25 years of skiing, so I was very happy with how warm my hands stayed. Stoked to use these gloves for many years to come. Word of warning: don’t pull on the fastener; I definitely accidentally popped a stitch on first wear—it’s hard to pull them over my Apple Watch pro, but I’ll figure it out.
Seriously Amazing Gloves
I use these gloves for Ski Patrolling and have always been impressed with the quality and warmth of BD gloves versus the other high end companies. These are seriously warm, but they need to be broken in. I use wear these all day long in sub zero temps. My mercury mitts don't get the use like they did in years past due to the warmth of these gloves. Love the dexterity of these gloves as well.
Impulse Gloves (L)
6’2” 210#, generally like tight fitting gloves and usually wear a large. For someone who can’t stand big heavily insulated gloves, these are about the most tolerable I’ve found. Good enough dexterity to operate larger zippers, hood toggles etc. wrist cuff is VERY tight. This leads to an excellent fit once they’re on, but can make getting the gloves on with damp hands extremely difficult.
Pretty darn good glove
I was looking for a warm glove that I could use for winter SAR missions that still allowed reasonable dexterity. This glove checks most of the marks. I think it will take some more use time for the dexterity part to break in, but the glove is warm. Had it out in temperatures in the mid teens and most of the hand was warm. The tips of my fingers were a little cold, but not overly so.
Exceptionally warm!
Warmest full finger gloves I’ve ever had. The inside of the glove is extremely soft and warm without feeling overly bulky. The glove slides on very easily and the rest retention lanyards are really helpful when you just need to pop them off quick and don’t want to lose them or have a safe spot to set them down without falling off the ski lift or mountain.
Solid
Haven't had a chance to put them through the wringer yet, but they're very well padded and insulated. Like other reviewers have said, you probably don't need to size up. I'm usually an XL (wear XL in BD's Dirtbag glove and most other brands) but L is spot on for me in this model.
