These are the first shoe from Danner we’ve purchased, and will likely be our last as well. I purchased these for my wife knowing that she’d love the yam color and thought it would be a nice lightweight hiker for summer. The shoe is lightweight alright, the upper feels like flimsy plastic and is held together with a simple line of single stitching. The vibram tread is nice, but hastily glued and the glue is visible at the seam. The inner lining rolls up over the top lip where its stitched to the tongue and has a rough edge that rubs uncomfortably on both sides. Not exactly the comfortable and durable hiker that I expected for such a steep price. The color is as fantastic as advertised, the sizing is accurate, the tread is nice, but that’s about all this shoe had for us.
Best hiking shoes and I’ve tried many! Very comfortable and I have bunions. Cushioned heel, great traction and support and great looking too!
The description does not mention that this shoe is a slip-on, there is no shoe tongue. If have a high instep you’ll have to use a shoe horn or wriggle your foot in. As a previous reviewer mentioned, the stitches on both sides of where the tongue should be are stiff and hurt your skin. The shoe looks good and seems to have nice cushioning but it was poorly designed. I’ll be returning them for sure.
Love these shoes! Took me no time to break in, very comfortable, good grip for hiking! Wore them throughout my entire trip in New Zealand!
These shoes are comfortable and light, and I really like their color and style compared to other hikers that are on the market. I thought they'd be great for hikes in the hotter temperatures where I live. However, I have been using them for that purpose for only a couple months now, and they are just not holding up. The sole is very cheap. Chunks have the black bottom have already ripped off and you can already see visible tread loss on sections. Also, the white cushion part is already showing compression and losing support in areas, and the insole inserts easily slide our and around and are just very thin and cheaply made. Pretty disappointed for this price point. I am probably going to return because quite frankly, I am sick of spending hundreds of dollars on shoes that don't last. Also, to be clear, I am not taking these shoes on anything they aren't advertised as designed to handle, so two months for wear I'd expect after a couple years, is ridiculous. Also, I am a smaller average sized women at 5'4" and 140 lbs.
I've had these Danners for 3 years. Before that, I had a pair back in 2001 when I first moved to CO, and then not since. Wore those out! Not sure why I went so long without another pair of Danners bc they remain the best day hikers I've ever had, and I've had many! They Fit my narrow, low volume foot perfectly. About to purchase another pair right now!
Best hiking shoe I have owned. Comfortable and water resistant. Great on rocky terrain and also for just walking the dog. They were meant to be hiking shoes, but they are so comfortable and have such great stability I am wearing them every day. You do need to use a shoe horn if you have a high instep, but once on they are so stable.
These are great shoes. I have another pair of Danner trail shoes that I have worn way more than a pair of shoes should last. Got these for a lighter summer feel. Absolutely love them. Well made, supportive, and comfortable.
