Impressive Camera!
I’ve been using GoPro’s since the original Hero. The Hero 9 is probably the most significant leap (model to model) that I’ve seen in the evolution of the Hero. The Hero 9 gained so many new useful features. The most obvious is the new design. Overall, the camera is larger which allows for a front facing screen and a larger battery. This larger form factor is a worthy trade-off for these features. The rear touch screen is also larger which makes video playback and navigating system menus easier. Albeit, the touch screen can be finicky at times. With the new form factor, the camera also gains access to additional lenses (MAX Lens Mod), Hypersmooth 3.0, and horizon leveling. All three of these items can be combined to stabilize your footage in a way that is nothing short of impressive. This stabilization is by far the best stabilization GoPro has ever had in the Hero camera; by far. The sensor and colors of the camera have improved. The footage looks clean and vibrant. It still has a hard time in low light, but most cameras do. So, I can’t really fault an action camera for that. You can now shoot in 5K-30 and 4K-60. I’ve always been a fan of the time warp and time-lapse modes if you’re into that sort of thing. Also, the camera will allow you to do a “scheduled capture”. This will allow you to configure the camera to start recording a scene at a specified time. For example, you could schedule it to record the sunrise while you stay in your tent and slumber. All in all, the Hero 9 is a great camera. Great job GoPro. You guys did really well on this one. Below, I’ve attached a video that shows some footage taken from one of my hikes in Red Rock Canyon. Some of the features you’ll see in the video are as follows. (Recording at 4K30, 4K Timewarp, GoPro Media Mod (Improved Audio), Hypersmooth 3.0) I hope this review was helpful! Happy filming!

The GoPro is overprice given its capabilities, and they nickel and dime you for accessories.

GoPro rocks the HERO9

Good camera - excellent stability. The size is great and it really is a versatile camera, especially when space is an issue. The touch screen is a little frustrating.

Great Camera!

I just used my Gopro 9 on our first outing, and my only complaint is that I didn't do enough test footage beforehand. Some video clips were over exposed, but it's my fault for not making the correct settings. After resetting the exposure compensation to -1, that did the trick. It's a great little camera, and perfect for my use.

Works well for mountain biking

The software tricks like hypersmooth stabilization and timewarp are fantastic. The quality gets bad once it gets dark a little shade outside. I upgraded from a Hero 5 camera and noticed a significant improvement. If you own a newer camera, I'd recommend getting a gimbal as the quality of the video is not worth the high price. Although the Hero 9 Black isn't the great in every way, it's the best camera to buy right now.

REI charges 50$ more than every other retailer.

This is the only place that charges 450 for the 9. Why did you hike up the price right after Christmas. Been on sale for a months just to to charge more for the gift card buyers. Should have just got a gift card from somewhere else

Have a class on how to use the GoPro

I actually have not even looked at it. I received it for xmas and will have to read the manual and learn how to use it. I hate reading manuals I prefer hands-on learning, so that I am not doing the wrong thing 10x.
