Short zipper impedes suit exit after use
I bought this suit, size XL, for the sleeveless and knee-length options, for swimming laps in a cold-water pool. After the suit gets wet, it is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to exit the suit. There is not enough clearance to do the pulling off the shoulders, due to the short zipper, which ends at the waist. The bottom point of the open zipper has to tolerate a LOT of strain to exit the suit. I fear the terminal open zipper point will not last very long. The manufacturer should consider a longer zipper.
Size matters!
Lucky that I was able to try this on in the store! I was going to order a small on-line, but saw that it was available at a REI near me. When I tried on the small, it was OK...when I tried an XS, it fit MUCH better through the body! So glad I had the option to try another size, as I am not an "XS" person. I am 5' and not skinny. Otherwise, good quality, nothing fancy, meets my need for 'a little warmth when the water is cold!
Best Shorty wetsuit I have owned
This is my second wetsuit from this company and this brank. I lost wet and needed a new one. Yes I am keeping the old one as weight can come and go. I love this wet suit. First the price is right. Under $100. Second it is so easy to get off and on that wearing it does not cut into my transition time. The medium fits perfectly. I am 5' almost 6" and 145. With the warmer weather the lakes are warmer and a shorty is perfect. Gives me the 'lift' I need and I do not over heat. Wore it on 7/13/24 for the Door County Tri in 73 degree water and it was perfect for me. If you are looking for a shorty wet suit. This is the one. Added for me is the neckline. Other wetsuits brands go up to my neck. This one doesn't.
Perfect for 64 degree Aegean Sea swimming
I bought mine for a sailing trip in the Greek Isles in end of May, 2022. It was perfect! the water was about 64 degrees. Wearing the shorty enabled me to swim comfortably for a longer period of time.
Flexible Spring / Summer Wetsuit
Adaptable spring and summer, even into the fall, this shorty is perfect for SUP board. I wish it came in a surf style, but the extra leg is actually quite nice. The sizing is fairly spot on, perfect, but could use some "S" series smaller framed bodies. Please NRS make some 6S or 8S. I dont see how folks complain about it being "hard to get on or off" ... its a wetsuit, and will be hard get on or off no matter what you buy. O'neil also makes a spring wetsuit but it is more expensive so i find NRS well priced.
Short & Chubby
I'm 5 foot even and usually wear a US 18 in tops, so I was very stressed about finding a suit. I tried on the XXL in the Farmer Jane version of this. and the legs were comically long. Like completely covered my feet and still had more room. I decided to take a chance on the XL and it fits perfectly, zipper went up no problem. It does stop a little shorter, but I haven't seen any strain to it yet
Good quality, comfort and sizing
This is a good quality suit. I'm 5'5" and 155 lbs and the suit fits as expected, a bit long and snug around the middle and chest where I carry my weight, while roomier in the legs and butt. The padding on the rear will increase the kayaking and sitting on beach/ pier lifetime. The zipper on this suit was sewn in crooked so it looks a bit odd, but otherwise all good.
