Nice Small Pack

Was looking for something small to carry my phone and wallet on shorter rides instead of resorting to my bulky hydration pack. This turned out to be a good choice. Fits my phone, wallet, a multi-tool, patch kit and a couple snack bars. It also has the ability to hold a small water bottle securely, but then hide the holder when not needed. It's comfortable to wear. I would recommend this for 34" waist and narrower, as I'm at 34" and there is no slack left on the strap. Any wider and it probably would probably start feeling tight.

This thing is TINY. Not only can the pouch not fit much more than a wallet and a cell phone; the waist strap is ridiculously short. I have a 34" waist (sue me, I'm an actual real world woman) and the buckle hardly shuts. I'm super disappointed by Dakine on this one. Turns out they're just another company that thinks it's cool to skimp on ten cent webbing that would make a product actually usable and still charge insane markup.

PERFECT!

This bag is perfect. I have had a hard time finding a waist/lumbar pack that does not wrap around my body. I'm 5'5'' and 125 lbs. They all seem to be soooo wide and have straps that are super long. The zipper pouch easily holds a spare tube, 2 Co2 canisters, levers, phone, and ear bud case. The collapsable water bottle holder is out of the way, even with a larger bottle in it (others extend to the side of my body and get in the way of my arms/elbows). I feel like this bag was made for me!

Great quality but too bulky for me needs.

I had to send this back because it was too large for what I was looking to use it for. I wanted something small and neat that would hold a rather large phone & my keys. I was really sorry to send it back because the quality is terrific. I guess I could have kept it for a travel bag but I have some others that work for that purpose. I am still looking for something that is not bulky and will take a large phone and keys -- also I need a strap that is elastic instead of slippery. All the bags I have looked at have the slippery strap that does not work as it doesn't stay in place.

small belt

I wear 31 pants. When the pack is full there is only about 1-2 inch slack. Doubt it would fit on anybody with larger than 34 waist. I bought a lot of packs in my time and usually there is enough slack for someone with a 50 inch waist. Not sure why they did this. I bought it for Windsurfing and it won’t fit with my harness.

Defective! Would be a nice pack...

Purchased this on REI.com and returned to store. The Hot Laps 1L black waistpack I received was defective (as other reviewers have stated). Per Dakine's customer service, these had a manufacturing or design defect where the waist strap is too small. I'm male with a size 32 to 33 waist pant and I needed the waist strap extended completely. Their customer service says the issue is now fixed. I'm disappointed Dakine did not recall these packs, and frustrated their customer service said to order direct from them to get a non-defective pack. The pack is sized nicely for a phone, wallet, snack, tool, and maybe a co2 inflator. The expandable bottle storage is a nice inclusion. The part that contacts the body is fairly rigid to allow for some ventilation. Get this pack if Dakine gets their stuff together. I cannot recommend the defective short-strapped version.

Nice pack if you’re very thin

I’d consider myself pretty fit. I usually wear a size 32 or 33 pant (6’1 about 180lbs) and this thing is very tight around my waist. The actual bag is nice. I like the size and it’s perfect for holding everything that’s usually in my pockets, but I find myself rarely using this because of how limiting the waistband is. Guess I’ll need to wait for a plus size version?

Belt straps too small

I actually like the quality of the pack, but the belt is too small. I've see this same comment on Dakine's website, wish I had seen before ordering. I have a 36" waist.

Too small.

Very short belt. Need to be less than 36 inch waist to be able to buckle. Had to return.
