Strong and simple!

I love this binding and highly recommend it to all skiers who are looking to spend most of their time touring longer lines. I was initially concerned with skiing hard on such a minimalist binding, but after a few days on resort, I am not too concerned. It certainly is not the binding for hard-charging cliff drops, or 60 MPH skiing. But for a day in the backcountry for 90% of the skiers out there (myself included), this binding is plenty darn strong. Sure, it is not DIN certified, but I am a 6'/185 lb dude who skis hard-and I have never had any release issues, not even when I am terrified and peering over a steep + icy couloir. It is a pleasure to tour uphill with due to it's light weight, and a pleasure to ski down with, due to it's relatively strong retention abilities. I also like that this binding is not made of plastic/carbon, unlike most other comparable bindings. In my opinion nothing lighter skis as good, and nothing heavier tours this good. If you are going to be in the bc most of the time, buy these bindings! Embrace the MTN!

Solid tech binding

This is my first tech binding, and it's super solid. They're very easy to step into, even for a novice. The heel piece has a leg up on Dynafits, etc. because you don't need to turn it in order to use the heel risers - when the brakes are locked in place, your heel rests right above the rear pins. Although it's not a DIN heel, there are three "settings" you can choose from (the shop will install the correct heel pins for you): "woman", "man", and "expert". I'm not sure what release value these correlate to, but I weigh ~195 lbs, level 3 skier, and they installed the "expert" heel pins for me (for what it's worth). So far, retention seems solid - haven't had any issues. These bindings are super light, solid, and would make a great addition to any backcountry setup.

Lite, efficient, ez to use

Great binding. Been using them for 3 years and couldn’t be happier. Climb well, ez to get in and out of, very robust, no prereleases, highly recommended. Only problem is finding them and then getting the brakes in the size you want. Atomic has the same binding in different colors but they can be hard to find also.

This is a very good binding.

This is a very good binding. The MTN Pure is a bombproof, full featured tech binding that remains extremely might while offering a ton of features including a true flat position. The new model year brings a fix to the toe piece which had been the one weak point on the binding. With it's features, ease of use and low weight, I can't think of a better touring binding on the market.

Super Reliable

I've used these bindings now for four winters and they are super reliable and easy to use. I was a bit skeptical at first, but I have never prereleased or had any problems while skiing. I used them in the NE trees, Utah powder New Mexico corn snow and deep powder on a BC glacier. They come with three sets of pins for different weight/ability skiers. I'm 5'9" 175 lbs, and I've always used the middle set of pins and they have worked well for me. I have released, but only when I should have. Every once in a while the brake lever will get caught on something while going up hill and the brake will drag, but it's easy to reach down with my pole and push it back down. Not a major issue. Also - I can tour without rotating the heal piece. That's a nice feature. It makes it easier for me to transition from climbing to skiing without removing my skis.
