Accurate and easy to use
I have had several GPS cycling computers over the years. I bought this to replace one I misplaced. There's an overwhelming number of reviews for Wahoo products but I struggled between the Wahoo Bolt and Element. My main concern is the Bolt is described as a small computer, I'm 60 and wear glasses and didn't want something to small. No worries, the Bolt is plenty big. I didn't need the map feature of the Element or wanted the bigger size. Some of my riding is on a tandem and my stocker uses a Garmin and our during and after results match. Setup on the Wahoo is through your phone but really makes it easy. Finally the buttons are very intuitive.
Great cycling computer.
I purchased the Wahoo Elemnt Bolt to replace a Garmin 520 that I had lost on a ride last year. The Bolt is very good. Easy to setup (I believe a smartphone is required for setup). It has all the standard customizable data you would expect. The numbers on the screen are very clear and easy to read. You can upload cycling routes and use the map feature. It has a zoom feature I really like so you can make the numbers on the screen larger or smaller. Of all the cycling computers I have owned, the Wahoo Elemnt Bolt is the easiest to setup and use. The maps are black and white, so if you need color maps this might not be for you.
Easiest setup, ever!
After years of riding "old school", I finally broke down, and after some research bought a ELEMNT Bolt. I paired it with a HR strap, Speed sensor and cadence sensor, as well as a two sided power meter; which might have taken two minutes. Many "tech" companies could take lessons from Wahoo. The computer is easy to learn and easy to use. The only drawback so far is if my iPhone is turned on and with me, connectivity to all those sensors drops. Until I have time to figure that out, NBD I just turn my phone off. (Airplane mode doesn't make a difference). As someone who has been riding for decades, this computer is like magic. What an awesome tool!
The bolt is a great computer!
I've been riding with this computer for about a month now I had a small problem with the display but the Wahoo customer service took care of it immediately. I love that it integrates with my training Peaks workouts in that I can import or build any other workouts I want. Once paired with your various sensors it connects almost immediately when you turn the computer on for a ride. This is true even across different bikes. Battery life seems pretty good, I don't really know how long it is because I haven't been able to run it below 40% or so even after a few rides one after the other. All in all a great piece of gear I recommend do anyone!
Great device
I have been a garmin fan for years but fed up with spending loads on a new garmin. The good - Great look and feel and the user interface is very good. Monochrome screen but that actually works well. The set up is easy and is done through your mobile. The battery life and the connection is awesome The bad - no touch screen, i did not think this would be an issue but i am slowly getting used to it. changing screens is not as easy as you press the button on the side . I have still not managed to make the second screen figs larger but i think i just need to tinker with it. Overall i am very pleased with it and so far a good choice to Garmin.
Best Accessory For Your Bike
This is a must-have if you are serious about improving your biking ability in terms of strength, power, stamina, and overall output on the bike. Without it, you are basically going through the motions. Sort of like going to the gym with no labels on the weights and just guessing whether you are doing better than your last workout. Connects easily to your smartphone if you want to analyze your biking stats and stays charged on several 20 mile+ rides.
What are you waiting for?
I had a Garmin 820, as you know you kinda sweat when you ride. If you don't, then I know you drink. Either way if the Garmin 820 gets wet, it's USELESS. My gps chip failed and I was on my way to a half iron. I was fed up with Garmin ignoring my enhancement request, suggestions and input. Pretty sure whoever's in charge at Garmin is NOT an athlete. The bolt is great. What I love is the ease of setup on my mobile Reliable tracking Not a touchscreen Training peaks integration Di/2 wifly integration Long battery life Instant upload to tpeaks Reliable device Assign LEDs to any metric (pwr, speed) When are you guys making a watch?!?!???
It just WORKS
I am not particularly tech savvy, don't want to have to connect anything to download results, and yet do want the functionality of odometer/speed and GPS/mapping. The Wahoo Elemnt Bolt does that and more, with next to no involvement on my part. All I did was download the app to my phone, link my Strava info (and TrainerRoad, but that's a different matter) to it, and away I went. Automatic uploads and even mapping info. Bonus was that when my phone was with me, I could see who was calling and also short texts so no wondering or stopping for either. LOVE IT and at a fraction of the cost of certain other brands I've purchased before.
Little and Powerful
I've been using the bolt for about a month and have really enjoyed it. Easy to use on a day to day basis with the wireless connectivity and long battery life. I like that different 3rd party gps programs act a bit differently. Ride with GPS routes allow turn notifications, for when you don't really now where you are, but Strava routes just load in the map without cues, nice when you know the area, but just want to have a route loaded to keep you on track. Easy pairing with speed and cadence sensors, etc. The mapping is not as powerful as some other products, but good enough. Great product with great features at an amazing price.
Loving the ELEMN Bolt
I'm pleasantly surprised with the ELEMNT Bolt. After fumbling with the glitchy RFLKT+ for a few years I was cautious to jump to another Wahoo product. Most of my concerns were alleviated when I got the unit and paired it for the first time. Everything just worked. My heart rate monitor and speed/cadence unit paired almost right away. The only issues I've had with pairing these have been after updates but it only takes a couple tries to get it to connect. Overall, I'm happy with it especially considering what problems I had with the RFLKT+ and every other product leading up to the ELEMNT Bolt. It seems they finally got it right.
