I bought this from a local REI, took it home and configured it for a ride the next day. Predictably, it had some firmware updates to do and I had to go through linking the app + all of my sensors; no big deal. I took it out for a ride the next morning, though, (after charging it fully overnight) and it would only work for two minute increments before it'd dump into a loading screen and "recover my ride". This happened 40 or 50 times (blasting off a "ride start" email to my emergency contacts each time) before I just shut the thing off. When it did "work" for more than two minutes, it captured none of my ride -- the total distance indicator stayed the exact same. Maybe this is debuggable. Maybe the device could be reset or something. But for the price tag on one of these my time is better spent elsewhere.
Once I understood that the correct app to use is Wahoo Fitness and not Element app, my version 3 Bolt linked in minutes. Prior versions use Element app.
Great device. The screen is big enough for everything I need. Works very well with the Trackr Radar. Takes heartrate data from my garmin watch seamlessly.
