red and white vintage pinstripes

can you go back to the red and white pinstripes in the inteerior please. this is one of the reasons I bought this bag because it stood out from other bags with it's unusual look. now when I look at them they don't have that same look anymore and I'm upset about it. makes me not want buy a bag from here because I love that vintage red and white pinstripe look. Now they have the same color as the exterior. which makes the bag normal and plain now. I'm bout to go see if I can find an older model somewhere else. if not I'm just gonna have to settle for something plain like everyone else. bummer!!

Great upgrade

My previous Herschel backpack I used for years and years before one of the armband broke. The warranty program is fantastic and I was able to get this bag, an upgrade from what the previous versions. I use this bag for work everyday to carry my laptop and personal belongings. The little pocked at the top is perfect for quick access to keys and the new bottle holder on the side fits my coffee travel cups very well. It's not large enough to hold my bigger water bottles but that works for me. Love the quality on Herschel bags and it's why I've continued to buy their products over the years.

Horrible materials and build quality

Within less than a year of owning the backpack, the entire leather at the bottom started peeling randomly on the edges. I’ve always been careful in taking care of it and the rest of the bag is in perfect condition. This should not be considered normal wear and tear, where the material breaks down in less than a year. Very poor build and material quality and be wary of their “warranty” as they’ll find an excuse (such as “normal wear and tear” rather than admitting it was poor materials usage) to not replace the bag or address concerns.

BOO on getting rid of the bright interior

Herschel made a serious error in getting rid of the red and white striped interior. If the purpose was to be more "adult" the purpose was defeated because nobody wants a dark interior bag. I cannot see inside of a black bag. It is like a bottomless pit. The BIG reason I purchased Herschel was because of the unique red and white striped interior. You could see EVERYTHING. Now, it is just like any old other backpack and I have moved on to a different backpack manufacturer who believes in be able to see contents.

Mid.

Beautiful product. Mid quality. The zipper gets stuck when I’m opening and closing my backpack. Does not have any tassels on the zipper, like Jansports, that make it ergonomic friendly. Straps I wish were as long as Jansports. Unfortunately, for big backs it does run fairly small. For the positives: great looking, great color, feels expensive, the side pockets are great, fits a 32oz and 40oz bottle with ease. The pocket organizers are great. I am in grad school and it’s the perfect little, simple bag.

My Third Hershel-Best One Yet

I had a similar model but didn’t have side pockets for drinks. After 3 years I figured I would get a new one. It’s a little softer than my first one but otherwise the same great quality! I like the environmental component of how these are made and I am by no means extreme on the subject. I just think it’s responsibly brilliant! You will not be let down my this product. I work in Chicago, walk to work and use this bag daily plus to travel twice a week. It’s excellent!

Awful odor

The bag arrived with an awful musty odor. The smell was so bad that the entire bedroom smelled musty from the bag. I put it out in the sun and sprinkled some baking soda inside the bag for an entire weekend. It didn’t help with the odor at all. I took it back to the store and they wouldn’t take it back because of the baking soda dust. I even wiped it down with vinegar but the musty smell wouldn’t go away. I ended up just throwing the backpack away! So awful

Perfect Backpack for a Grad Student!

I was on the search for the perfect Backpack for a week when I stumbled upon the Pop Quiz backpack - it has plenty of interior storage and organization for me to hold my laptop, lunch box, water bottle (in external pocket!), deodorant, keys, and miscellaneous knick-knacks and office supplies. Need a Tylenol? I have a special pocket for all my emergency meds! Everything is so organized and neat, I'm so glad I went with this backpack!

Dog Days

I use this backpack for my woods adventures with my two tiny dogs. Unfortunately for me, one pup wanted to taste the zipper on my black Herschel backpack. So I got the exact same replacement in my favorite color, pink. I wish it didn’t cost so much, but it was worth it since the product is made to last….. unless your dog chews the zipper! Would recommend this bag to anyone, begrudgingly would buy again if another gets chewed up.

The backpack is OK but the outside material is worse than it used to be

7 years ago I had bought a Herschel backpack very similar to this one and loved it, thus wanted a new one but it was not as good. The laptop pocket is not padded as it used to be. The material is a bit more plastic and the handles are less cushioned, both things make it less comfortable to wear. These are things I was not able to know when buying online. I think that if I had seen it in person before I would have not bought it.
