Herschel Supply Co.  Classic Pack XL

I’ve always admired the classic look and simplicity of Herschel backpacks. Now that I have one I appreciate them even more. Plenty of room for all my daily essentials and a pocket for a big water bottle. Should’ve bought one a lot sooner, I love it.

Old vs new classic backpack. They got rid of the second cup holder, the zipper pulls are no longer matching in color and the top strap is nylon instead of canvas. Those were some of my favorite design features. I’m still not sure if I will keep it.

was looking for something i could easily travel with on airplanes, exceeded expectations, was comfortable to wear. i love the fabric and padded shoulders.

Backpack seems well made, but has no interior pockets whatsoever. I've never had a backpack without interior pockets to help organize the small stuff. It would also ben nice if the exterior water bottle pocket could be wider to fit larger bottles. I purchased the pink color, and liked how it wasn't super "pink" in the photo. However, I was not expecting how bland the color is in person. It is more of a taupe with a very slight pink tinge to it. Definitely more of a neutral tone, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but just wasn't what I was expecting.

I bought one of these backpacks when I was going into my freshman year of high school and it lasted until I graduated! it just had a few wear marks where my binder sat in the back but that was about it. Since the zipper pull had fallen off, I was able to get a new one for about 75% off and used that coupon to get another one for college! If you are looking for a long lasting, basic backpack this is the one for you! The price might be steep for some, but it is cheaper than having to buy a new backpack each school year!

I liked the backpack. it’s cool, the material is nice in my opinion. Good back to school backpack. To be honest the XL size is nice but NOT as spacious as jane sport backpack. if you want a backpack for school, i recommend any other brand. If you know you won’t carry a lot of things, this backpack is good. Overall though, great purchase and if you want to try it, i’d say give it a shot. if you don’t like it return it or get the one you’re comfortable with. The price is a bit much but again, the backpack isn’t bad.

I purchased this backpack for my 15-year-old with high expectations given Herschel’s reputation, but both of us were disappointed. The overall look and finish feel quite average, and the size is smaller than expected. For the price, it doesn’t offer the quality or value we anticipated. Unfortunately, I’m left wishing I had returned it, as there are far better options available in the market.

Bought this to replace a bag that’s been in use for five years. This new bag fabric and apparent construction is not as nice as the old bag. The “lap top” pocket of the old bad is padded and well formed. This is gust an extra thin layer of fabric to create the extra pocket, Like every other basic bag out there. Also, I don’t see how it’s an XL size. It’s just average book bag size.

This was my first time purchasing a Herschel Backpack in a few years. The bag looks good but the quality has taking a step back. I was disappointed that the Classic Backpack did not have the Candy Cane Stripes like the previous two bags I owned. So, this will be my last Herschel I will ever purchase unless I find an old school version with the Candy Cane stripes on the inside.
