Sadly not 100% Organic cotton, contains synthetics

I thought this was 100% Organic cotton? I looked at the tag and it says it has a 100% polyester lining :( For those of you like me who are trying to rid their wardrobes of synthetic materials, this may not be for you. It also runs quite small. Quite disappointed!

Great, but questionable quality

I love the color/pattern. Goes really well with a lot of my clothes. Also, the material is the perfect thickness in colder weather as a mid layer to wear under a coat. The fit is nice too. I like it on the bigger side. I'm 5'7" and got a M for reference. However, after one wash, at least two of the shirt buttons are about to come undone. In some other places, there are some threads coming loose as well in the stitching. I will have to stitch them back on. Not a huge deal, but it's annoying considering the money you pay for this brand.

I bought one yesterday and am already buying a second one

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm travelling to cold Denmark, but all my shirts are for California weather. I needed something warm, and as soon as I tried it on I immediately loved it. Warm, comfortable, versatile. Wear as an open jacket with the sleeves rolled back when it's warm, or button it up and button the sleeves when it's cold. Noticeable design details include smooth nice stitching, double cuff buttons to stop breezes up my narrow wrists, an extra gusset sewn into the splits on each size. Why not 5 stars? I would have given this 4.5 if possible. (1) traditional plaid is not my style. Not my image. (2) the sleeves are about one inch too long for me. Not a big deal, but not perfect.

Wrong item

I waited a little over a week to get the shirt. It arrived I. A box that looks like it was run over… and the it’s the wrong shirt. Actually not a bad looking but I ordered a flannel pattern that I could wear at work so I’m a little bummed.

Thick, soft, and warm

This is a great shirt for fall/winter. The flannel is thick and super soft. The fit is also spot on without being too short or too blousy. I will challenge what another reviewer said about it not being 100% organic cotton. The entire shirt is indeed 100% cotton. There is a very small part that is polyester. It is a strip they added around the inside of the collar for sweat around the neck. It probably measures 1x5 inches and doesn't make me feel like I am supporting more synthetic textiles. If it bothered you that much you could probably pick the stitches out and remove it.

North Face is still top quality

Well I haven't washed it yet, but being this time of year I've carried it around as an extra layer for two weeks. It is a well made shirt. The flannel is nice and thick. Came with extra buttons, which is a vanishing mark of quality. I would have preferred a "tall" size but my REI store won't carry tall sizes, which is disappointing. Though perfect now, if it shrinks at all the sleeves will be too short. I think I'll wash in cold water and avoid the dryer, at least for a while, since we're talking an $80 flannel shirt . . .

soft and warm, which is great.

The cotton is very soft and warm, which is great. Can be used as a second layer without any problems. If it's not too cold, there's no need to wear jackets above. The product has an excellent fit. It's not too big or too small. I intend to buy other colors!

Great shirt but the color mislabeled

Great quality shirt but the color I received when I ordered Monterey blue corresponded to the Pinecone brown color. I'm hesitant to reorder because REI cannot guarantee that they have fixed the mistake

"Nature is Magic" patch on left side

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The flannel is nice. However, it has a patch that reads, "Nature is Magic" This patch is not shown in the web picture. The flannel is for my husband. He doesn't like the patch. Will be returning it.

Not the same shirt as pictured

Very disappointed. Didn't receive the same shirt as pictured on website. Very low quality shirt. Thin fabric and poorly made. However northface completed a return very promptly.
