Cute and Comfy

I bought these to be a fall/winter boot in our milder climate and because they claim to be waterproof. I ordered a size 9 and though narrower than my other Sorel boots, they still give me enough wiggle room (I'm a true 8.5 with a wider width, but always order a 9 in Sorel boots for room with thicker socks). When I first put these on, they were stiff and squeaked so I was skeptical, but as I walked around the squeak went away and the boot seems to be stretching out in a good way and is no longer stiff (like good leather does). Very happy with the purchase, especially getting them on sale. They get 4 stars only because I can't test their waterproof durability yet.

Will exchange

Got them as a gift, wore them 4 times and the seam tore on the left top of the boot......

Love

I bought this boot because I wanted a boot for walking in the cold wet snowy weather. This boot is perfect for that. It is not a big clunky boot. Lightweight but warm and waterproof. I wore this the first time walking on a trail that was snowy, wet and very muddy. I wasn’t excited to see all the mud but thought we these are Sorel’s and the reason I bought these. After all that a quick clean up after they are as good as new! If you’re looking for a winter boot that will keep your feet warm and dry but stylish and not bulky......This is the boot for you!!!

Best cozy booties!

These boots are everything! Bought for my first winter in a large city and they are so comfortable and warm. They run true to size if you don’t plan to wear socks, on the small size if you do want room for socks. I personally couldn’t imagine wearing socks as the lining is so cozy and so so warm. Walked 4 miles around the city on my first trek and my feet wet toasty and they were just as comfortable as my favorite tennis shoes. They’re super light weight and not clunky at all. If you’re on the fence BUY them! You will not regret the warmth or comfort!

Would (will) buy again!

I love these shoes! These have been a wonderful addition to my winter wardrobe, classy enough for a casual dinner out and practical enough to keep my feet dry and warm in our snowy climate. Of course they slip a bit on packed icy snow, if you’ve found a shoe that doesn’t, I want to hear from you, but they are some of the best I’ve found while still looking chic and not lugging a 10 lb boot around on my foot. I also love how the ankle opening is just a bit wide, allowing my skinny jeans to easily tuck inside the opening without bulk.

Nice but sizing is way off

These were beautiful boots that appear to be high quality but the sizing is way off. I’m a solid 8.5 and usually swimming in size 9s. I got an 8.5 in these and they were extremely tight and narrow. I feel like I would have to size up a full size to make them work so I had to return. They were also tighter around the ankles than I would have expected based on the photos. Apparently you have to find what size you are in Sorel because these are the 3rd boots I’ve tried that the sizing has been way off.

Great looking boot

These are very nice looking. They fit me well, but a little big, which is ok, since I will be wearing them in cold weather and will be wearing socks. Oddity note: the zipper is on the outside instead of inside.

Narrow in the toes

I don’t have wide feet and these are very narrow in the toe box. I ordered a half size up and still feel too snug in the toes. My heel lifts out in each step though which pulls your socks down which is annoying. So, if I ordered any larger of a size, I think my heel would slip up even more. They feel warm though and I like how they look. This is my 2nd pair of Sorel boots and had same issue with the fit of previous pair so maybe Sorel just isn’t the right fit for my feet.

Casual, warm boot

I have been trying to replace my Sorel Slimshortie Casual Boot from 2015 for a couple years now and this seems to be the closest replacement I could find. I bought the Joan Shorties last season and those are just a little more sporty. This new Explorer Boot is a good casual, everyday winter boot, that can be worn a little more dressy and casual. I typically wear a 5.5 and sized up a full size to 6.5. This allows me to wear a thick Smartwool sock and be able to slip the boot on and off. I also keep the boots half unzipped for ease of getting in and out of them. If the boots were a tad more open at the top- I would have give 5 stars. I like my Sorels to be able to slip on and off easy. Other than that, I have worn them a couple times in more mild weather (no snow yet) and they have kept my feet warm and are comfortable.

Too Big and Clunky

I really wanted to like these boots, but they were really big and clunky. I sized up to a 9 from my standard 8.5 and they were huge. Even with a thick sock they would have been too big. I didn't love the width of the boot or the thickness of the soles, both were somewhat unflattering. Also, the soles were insanely squeaky when I first put them on - I will be returning so I can't advise on the squeak long term!
