Not sized as advertised!

What gives Gear Aid? These poles are described on the packaging as able to support poles up to 12mm and 16mm respectively (silver and black). However, after testing them on my REI Kingdom 6 poles (11 & 14.5mm) I found they do NOT fit. I then measured the splints and they have inner diameters of 11mm and 14mm at best. Please stock some splints that fit your branded tents REI.

Smaller than advertized

Advertized for poles up to 5/8" (0.625") diameter. This splint would not fit over a 0.58" pole.

Perfect fit

This sleeve fit perfectly over one of the tent pole ends, which had frayed. No need for tape to hold it in place. For reference, outer diameter of the poles is 9.9 mm.

Useful and reusable

This item worked as advertised. I used it on a military LiteFighter 1 tent pole. It's particularly nice because I'll be able to remove it once I get the pole replace and save it for a future repair.

Came in handy while I was section hiking the Pacific Crest Trail and my tent pole snapped. Definitely glad I had this in my pack! Saved my life for the few weeks we were out there.

Does NOT fit over 5/8" pole

Splint simply is not as described. It lists that it can fit any pole up to 5/8", except that the splint itself is 5/8" and cannot fit over a 5/8" pole. Completely useless if you have a 5/8" pole

Good item to have for emergencies for sure.

Good quality and good overall length. Seems to fit over different diameter poles, which is definitely useful to have around. I purchased to repair a pole, but will be using it for emergencies as it seems too nice to permanently install on an old pole.

Tent Splint

Back up repair for a truck tent I use regularly. Had a pole fail and ended up using a broken arrow to splint it. Picked this up as soon as I got back into town.

Great fix

Great temporary fix for split poles! Used their tape and held up for a week long camping trip! Definitely recommend for a temporary fix and a cheap option too.
