High quality, seems durable

I purchased this directly from the manufacturer. I'm really happy with it. My bike rack is oversized, but this fits perfectly and very securely with four attachment points, including a buckle on the lower part of the bag for the bottom of the rack. It's made out of nice material, and the inside is quite spacious. I've used this to carry somewhat heavy loads and also to carry my 17" laptop. I thought the price was high, but I needed a new backpack as well as a pannier - this really does the trick. Converting between pannier and backpack mode is simple and pretty quick.

Great Concept Expensive Considering Materials

I have always wanted a pannier that converted to a backpack. Finally I found one. But…the fabric is quite light with little structure. The pannier is also quite expensive. I have backpacks from other brands that are made of much more heavy duty fabric that I think are a better value.

Perfect bag for daily bike commuting

I have been riding with Two Wheel Gear's pannier backpack for more than 2 years and has become the most important gear for my bike trips. The bag 's top features - excellent craftmanship, quality material, small details covered, e.g., rain cover, bottle holders, helmet attachment, easy-to-clean bottom, internal organisers (only possible because those who designed and built it actually ride bikes) for ease of use. Must-have for serious people shifting to cycling as urban mobility choice.

Great overall; few design limits.

I’ve had these panniers for about a month and a half. I bought them because of their ability to convert into backpacks; with an aspiration of biking the empire Trail to Montreal. I’d say this is a solid product. I read others’ reviews about the pannier slipping forward on the rack while biking. (Noted & experienced-It’s really annoying when your heal is hitting the pannier with every pedal stroke.) The other thing that took a while to get used to is securing the pannier to bike rack with the belt straps- it’s a bit awkward, but doable; if you forget to do so, you’ll know within a few pedal strokes with the sound. Also, it’s well worth trade off if I can convert the panniers into backpacks to lug around city instead of carrying panniers by handle; Haven’t ridden in the rain yet to truly test out rain covers. Wish they were integrated into bag (like on Osprey backpacks).

Great pannier

Bought this pannier after a cheaper one from Amazon kept breaking on me. It was more than I wanted to spend, but I’m so glad I made the investment. It’s large enough to fit what I need for work, and it offers great protection for my work laptop. Locking it onto my bike rack is a breeze, and it converts from pannier to backpack with incredible simplicity. My only complaint is that the little straps on the bottom hooks flap around in my wheel spokes, but I was able to fix that issue with a couple small binder clips. This pannier has been a game changer for me and made it much easier to commit to bike commuting.

Good for daily bike commute.

Pros: The bag is large enough to commute to work. I can get a full change of clothes, my laptop, lunch and still have room for winter gear when the time comes. I like the changeable design for the backpack straps. Seats on my bike rack well. The multiple pockets are great to keep everything organized in. Con: when full the lower outside pocket is hard to get my lock and work keys/badge in and out off. The bottom of the pack is not made with the same material. I would have reinforced it with much heavier materials. The outside water bottle pocket is useless. My work thermos which is not very large doesn’t fit. I shoved the rain sleeve (had to buy separately. My used version didn’t come with one. Buying it new one might be provided).

Great, just not worth the price

I love the concept of this pannier/backpack combo, and this bag ALMOST pulled it off. I used this as my commuting back for work 4-5 times before deciding to return, and here are my issues with it: - I'm sure it gets easier with practice, but shoving the straps into the pannier back before getting on the bike was hard and took me several tries every time - Pulling the straps out when I got to the office was very time consuming and required that I prop my bike up somewhere and get on the ground to use both hands - The bag is very structured, which makes it feel pretty bulky as a backpack - I hated the reflective strips on the straps (that were not pictured), they made it look too sporty to be my work bag like I'd hoped Everything else was great! Honestly, a good bag. I just couldn't justify keeping it if I didn't LOVE it because it was sooo expensive. So if you have the budget, go for it! Otherwise, maybe proceed with caution and take advantage of REI's return policy.

Good pannier, bad backpack

The bag is well constructed, looks nice, and has more than adequate storage, but the straps are unbearably uncomfortable, to the point of being painful.

Excellent product for every day commuting

This product is simply brilliant. It straps on your rack while you ride (I've never had it pop off) and quickly converts into a back pack after you park. It is ideal for running errands and I often use it to hold my work stuff on my daily commute (when I don't need a change of clothes). It is very well made, durable, and fashionable.
