Nice Tripping and Fishing Kayak

I bought this for overnight tripping and casual fishing. A cross between those hard to paddle, wide fishing barges and sleek day trippers. Easy to paddle, tracks well and light enough to cartop. It handles boat wakes well due to its moderately wide hull. Can conveniently carry a hard cooler and fishing crate with rod tubes. It has accessory tracks in the cockpit but I wish there were some in the back. The paddle holder bungy at the bow is very handy for fishing. I have a Wilderness Pungo but I think this is a better choice if you have only one kayak. Although I have never flipped, the sit on top style seems safer for the casual paddler.

Timeless design but…

Really nothing too critical to be worried about. I’ve loved this boat for years. Sold them even for a 5 year period. This boat is a staple. However, with their redesign they failed to test the “dry box” that attaches to the deck of the boat right at about your knees. It will not keep water out. Sought a warranty thinking it was a bad unit. Same issue. Talked to them on the phone (great cust service) and the gal acknowledged it looked like a design flaw, not defect. So I just dial locked a pelican case there instead.

Great boat!

Great boat! I've had mine for two seasons now and love it. Use it on the Current River and various lakes. It tracks well...goes where I want it to go....and is stable. Was not sure about getting a 12' boat but now realize that this is the way to go. Highly recommend this kayak.

Wilderness makes the most reliable kayaks

This is a great kayak for quiet waters. It is stable and very well equipped. It is a little on the heavy side, but otherwise is exactly what I wanted. After years of paddling a conventional Pungo 120, my old knees didn't like getting in and out. This is ideal for easy entrance.

Super nice kayak

This kayak is the best sit on I have ever owned. Lots of cargo room and very easy to use. You will need a kayak trolley to move it around if not close to water.

Tracks well even without a rudder, seat is very comfortable and at 6'4", I fit into it very comfortably.
