Needs a metal ring for front attachment
I love Ruffwear gear, but without a stronger, metal ring on the front, it is not viable for a front attachment for long. After a few months, the front strap wore through.

Best harness I’ve ever had. Lupine is a close 2nd

I thought I was getting a pitbull puppy and got the Ruffwear harness in orange size small. I put him in it when he was 6lbs and he’s still going strong in the same harness at 35lbs- turns out he was a Pitbulls chihuahua mix. Nonetheless, this harness has never been washed in three years and it’s going strong. Best harness hands down.

I think it works!

I was a little worried that this harness wouldn’t work for my pup. He’s an Anatolian shepherd mix, with a chest built like a Great Dane. The girth comes a bit close to his armpits, but I don’t think it impedes his movement or causes any rubbing. I have only used it on him once so far when we went skiing. I attached a leash to the front loop & he responded well to it with no pulling and no leash reactivity to other dogs. I will have to update my review once I’ve had more use of it, but so far I think it will work just fine. I went with the navy color, but I wish Ruffwear would come out with a forest or mossy/olive green color.

Great for my adventure buddy!

I rescued a traumatized, timid, bolter of a husky puppy over a month ago and learned really quickly that a collar would not work with this guy. I bought this harness in store and took him out hiking, trail running, and skiing and this thing worked great!! Definitely seems very comfortable for him, and solid enough that I can grab him by it when I need to. I take it off before bedtime, but he seems to nap and play in it very happily. IMPORTANT NOTE: the puppy with his small shoulders CAN get out of this harness. It takes a lot of fear and pulling and a lower angle. Which I have learned to avoid.. but I thought it was worth nothing.

A must-get for your pup!

This harness is the best I’ve found. It’s got comfortable padding so my pup can wear it for long periods of time. I love how easy it is to slip on and adjust. I recommend it 100%.

Dog was lost in the woods for 12 days

My dog got away from a petsitter in a heavily wooded area. She was lost in Pocahontas State Park for 12 days while wearing her Ruffwear harness. The harness fits so well that it never budged from her body. It was critical in our search for sightings and people all mentioned "saw the dog with the blue harness." Without it, who knows if we would have found her. Thank you for making a quality product! Other than a little mud, the harness is in great shape even though she was roughing it.

Dog tested, dog approved!

Very sturdy, great fit! Sizing chart was accurate, and my 30lb Golden Retriever /Dachshund mix (wears size small) looks very cute while wearing it on our hikes.

Great harness for active dogs

Ruffwear has been our dog harness of choice for the last 8 years with our Vizla. It fits him very well and offers two secure lead points and seems to be more comfortable for our dog than other harnesses we've used in the past. This is our second one and we will gladly replace it with the same one again if our current one gets worn out. My only critique would be a different fabric on the inside as currently it collects a lot of his short hair and is very difficult to remove. Otherwise its a perfect harness for an active dog.

The best dog harness we have ever had!

The best harness we've used! We have owned this model of Ruffwear harness before, for our older pug and knew it was exactly Etsy we wanted for our new puppy as well. So comfortable for them abg easy to put on, take off and adjust!

Amazing quality and perfect fit for PUG!

I believe and have learned through numerous product trials that Ruffwear harnesses are the absolute best quality and humane walking shirts for Pugs -Iggy loves his. I started him out on a smaller size and he graduated to the medium front range size. The key benefits: he has freedom of range, without my losing a meter of control over his safety, the neck and side adjustments are easy to use and quite perfect for areas that have little to zero impact on the health of flat-faced breeds, and keeping Ruffwear lasts and cleans easily. I highly recommend.

Great harness

This harness is sturdy and well made. We had another “outdoor” brand and it was so flimsy and lose fitting on the front clip. This harness is more comfortable and I feel better with my pup in it. Also like being able to clip the leash in the front, but do agree with another comment... wish it was a metal clip in the front as well. My puppy is 62lbs and I ordered the large/XL, a little loose around the waist but he will grow into it no time, still does it’s purpose. So far love ruffwear purchases... harness, collar, and leash!
