Nice, lightweight, and breatheable
I got this so I could have something lightweight and a little bit more breathable in Florida than the Trace would be with the Koroyd mesh. I really like it so far. I do wish it had the glasses channels like the Forefront 2 (mtb equivalent of the Trace) has. I did order a medium, and got a box for a medium, but there was a brand new small in the box. Since I'm pretty much between sizes anyways, I just kept it. I don't know if they've changed it, but the strap isn't a continuous loop and for whatever reason it loosens itself very quickly so I just have to remember to tighten it back up every few hours. Mildly annoying, but not a huge deal.
Nice fit
Nice lid. Sits evenly, no slow sliding down my forehead as the ride goes on, even for extended periods in the drops. Wish it came with replacement pads, but I’d probably lose them before time to change them. LOL
Gray paint coming off
The helmet itself is very comfortable. An included visor has no obvious way to attach, and no info is provided with the helmet. Unfortunately, after only 3 wears, the gray paint started to chip off on one side, even though I have not handled it roughly. This is an expensive helmet and this should not happen. There should be no paint, period--the colors should be part of the material. Luckily warranty covers replacement but I don't trust getting the same one again. Trying another color that hopefully doesn't have painted components.
Comfortable with some minor annoyances
I got this to wear for road rides since my mountain helmet was a bit too bulky. It's relatively lightweight and quite comfortable. My only issue is that the chin strap is composed of two parts, rather than a loop. It's a pain to keep them both properly adjusted and they seem to loosen over time on their own.
Not for Bald Guys (or Gals)
Appears to be a perfectly good helmet in terms of build quality. Color scheme looks good for city riding....BUT....The openings on top helmet are large and there is no screening. If you are bald you are in store for some funny tan lines and/or burns if you ever ride in the sun.
It might of saved my life or concussion
I’ve always preferred Smith Helmets. I just recently had a bike accident on my road bike. I was too fast on a turn and crashed into the woods. I came out with a dented helmet and no concussion. I think MIPs helped to avoid the concussion
Smith helmet
Fits great! Very comfortable. I really like the bright colors because drivers notice you right away.
