Despite some minor issues, this is an incredible pole for the value. I'm heavy, and even with a 50 lbs pack the locks hold tight. I can put my full weight on them confidently. I have two issues though. The tightening mechanisms have a tendency to jam, and when they do it can be nearly impossible to unjam them without pliers. They don't really need to be adjusted once you fight the right tightness though. The other issue is that the tips are not replaceable yourself. If the carbide breaks off, which happened to me after around 75 miles, you have to send them away to be repaired. I could not get the tips off to try a 3rd party replacement, even after heating the ends. So overall it's a great product with a few issues, but at this price its worth it.
Bought two and really like them. Used them during a three week trip to Colorado and Utah. Easy to use and held up well. Only negative is the collapsed length - not quite as compact as more expensive poles. But for the price they’re hard to beat!
Useful product, well made though seemed I needed to constantly adjust the length on occasion, as I walked in the UK.
It doesn’t stay tightened in place and when you use it to distribute weight it will collapse onto itself. I see what everyone said to get the ones that fold out.
Picked these up for an anticipated alpine fishing trip where poles will be needed for level to steep terrain. Really like the easy height adjustment on them. Only drawback is the compactness, you can get them down to 21" if you remove the lowest section.
This is a great product! My boyfriend liked it so much when he borrowed it that now I am buying him one too.
I haven't had a chance to try it out (so I didn't give it a 5) but it seems sturdy. It's lightweight and the handgrip feels comfortable. Easy to change length.
I was very happy with these poles. This was my first set I’ve owned and had no issues with the poles collapsing while hiking as I saw a few reviews state. They clamp down tightly. After 4 years of summer/fall use I finally broke a tip off but was able to continue using the pole the next 3 days of the backpacking trip without much of an issue.
Bought for wife, haven't used it but she likes the feel & size
