Great shoe from a longtime runner

I have been running in the GT-2000 since I was in high school (I am 26 now). I switched last year to the GT-1000 when I returned from the Peace Corps. They were new to me, looked like the GT-2000 and we’re cheaper. Turns out they are basically the same shoe besides missing a few extra, flashy features. I am a minimalist and don’t really believe a runner needs all that. I usually buy the version that has been out for 2-3 years and the shoe company is trying to get rid of. Anyway, I am a marathoner and I train in the GT-1000s and will continue to do so. Great shoe and highly recommend for people who know that ASICS works for them and who currently wear the 2000s but want to say some money.

These must be good shoes

I accidentally sent these to my old address, and the person who received them did not send them back, so I think these shoes must be satisfactory. I plan to buy another pair (for myself this time).

Good shoe, but has a major problem

The shoe is overall reasonable for the price. However, it's front is made from a thin net, which can easily get caught in something. This happened to me after just a few times of using it, the net has torn, and now I have almost new pair of shoes that look tattered. It is embarrassing to walk with those in public. I've contacted ASICS but didn't get any reply. Of course, I can throw them in the trash and get new ones. But is this a sustainable behavior? I would expect from a distinguished firm like ASICS to have much better support.

Disappointing fit

I gave it a 2 star because the fit was not right. I had already purchased an 8 1/2 GT-1000 8 a couple of months ago and it fit just right. I loved it. So I went and bought the exact same model and size in a different color. The new shoe did not have the same fit. It was smaller for some reason. I was totally disappointed. I had purchased New Balance shoes for over a decade until the shoes stopped fitting properly. I tried Asics and sadly found out that the fit is not consistent. Maybe I should try Nike next.

Causing pain in big toes, shoes retired

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unfortunately I have to give this shoe a one star rating personally. After a month, I’ve had to retire the shoe due to a pains developing on both big toes whenever I set foot in the shoe never mind when I actually run in it. The pain eases off and disappears when I revert back to my older ASICS. As much as I don’t want to admit it, I disintegrated in this shoe. I’ve ran in ASICS for 10 years now without any issue at all. This shoe is simply not for me.

Comfortable & Stable

I have a pretty wide foot and these feel really good. Sometimes other brands are made very narrow and it makes it very uncomfortable to run, but not these. They’re my first pair of ASICS and so far I’m upset that I didn’t buy a pair sooner. My desire to go running has increased exponentially. They feel very stable too and cushioned without feeling pillowy. Definitely recommend them for anyone who is tired of narrow running shoes.

Great foot support

I have purchased ASICS GT Series Running shoe for the past several years. I am not a runner but I walk 3 to 6 miles per day. I have deteriorated hip joints that cause significant pain. These shoes provide the right kind of support that reduces the hip pain. I usually get approximately 6 months use out of a pair, then my hip starts to tell me that it is time the put on a new pair. I do like the styling of these shoes

1st time buying this model and no "ragrets." ;-)

This was my 1st time buying this model of Asics so I was a bit nervous about the purchase, but after wearing them for a week in a fast paced Ortho clinic I'm glad I bought them! Super light and very supportive for when I have to turn quick on my feet or do a fast pivot, also at the end of the day my feet feel aren't killing me! All that and they look stylish too! I'll definitely be buying these again!

Runs small and narrow

I've been buying the gt1000 for years now. Have absolutely loved them. Ordered these in the same size and width I have what's ordered them. They show up, and they are smaller cut length wise, and even more narrow than before. I can't return them bc I already threw the box away. They change the cut, Being cheap trying to reduce materials being used. Will not order asics ever again. Very disappointed

Comfortable fit and support

Very comfortable fit with great arch support. The front is slightly angled so you feel like you are getting more push off your step. I recently experienced discomfort in the toe area with some other running shoes but these have a tight, comfortable fit. I have been getting into running and these fit way better than the name brand running shoes you typically get from big box retailers.
