Dressier version of the Blundstone 500s and 550s
I love my very-broken-in Blundstone 500s, and have had my eye on these slightly dressier ones for a few months. Hard to find them in stock anywhere! They are just as good as I hoped. Cute with skirts and trousers. Seem solid and well made, but not too clunky or heavy. For sizing: I am normally a 7, and wear the standard 7 in the 500s. Thanks to other reviewers who said these run small, I ordered a 7.5 and 8. I decided to keep the 7.5 even though it felt snug over the top of the foot. Right decision - within a couple short wears, it conforms to my feet and is super comfortable. So if you have to size up, just be careful not to size up too much.
Beautiful shoe, terrible fit
I'm so disappointed that these didn't work. I typically wear a women's 8 in a wide (EE), so based on their side chart, I ordered an 8.5 I tried for a week every day for hours wearing thin socks. But every day ended in wanting to cry due to how tight these were. It was unbearable. I understand there is a break in period for leather, but my toes were going numb due to the shoe digging into the top of my feet. I tried the Original's and Ankle cut in the store. Even those were too narrow for wide feet, and the 9 was too big. If you have narrow feet, buy these! I got so many compliments the week I had them.
Great rain boots
Typically a 6.5 and ordered at 7 to allow for thicker wool socks. I have a skinny foot and slightly mild bunions on each side; my foot barely had room with wool socks. Since it’s leather, I’m sure they will loosen up. Though it’s a snug fit (especially the heel) I would definitely order a size up if you have wide feet. Besides that, they fit, feel and look great!
Comfortable and stylish
I wear a 6.5 in my regular (flat) Blundstones, and ordered a 7 in these based on reviews. They fit perfectly! I have a narrow foot and heel, and a high arch. Wore these all day walking around and my feet didn't hurt. The back of the ankle is a bit stiff at first, but it'll break in and it didn't rub. These are such a nice, subtle feminine edit to a shoe I already love! I don't think you can wear thick socks with these (unlike the other Blundstones), but regular socks worked fine.
Worth the size hassle--try them on!
Fully support this shoe! Take your time to find the right size. I have classic 550 Blundstones in my typical size for boots (6.5) and in these I am a 7. They run smaller than other Blundstone models! I've never been a 7 but the 6.5s were too small, not just pre-break in small, just way too small. All that being said, the right size is worth it!!
Great boots, run small
These are a great addition to your boot collection. I have a pair of 585s (Classic, flat Blundstones) in my regular size 8.5. I had to size up a full size to a 9.5 for the heeled boots. The opening is very tight and the construction is just a bit different with the heel. If you're wearing these with regular socks, you could probably get away with ordering a half-size up. I wanted to wear medium to thick socks with these and a full size up from my normal Blundstone size was a perfect fit. A classic boot with a dressed up shape.
Worth the Break-In Time
Love this boot. Quality materials and workmanship. Classic style. It’s a beautiful and functional boot, exactly what I hoped for. As many reviewers noted, however, it cannot be worn out of the box comfortably and needs to be broken-in. I wear a size 6 ½ and ordered a 7. I struggled to get it on when it first arrived – think Cinderellla. A shoe horn is required and not those wimpy plastic ones. One boot fit well once it was on, but the other side chafed the top of my foot and back of the ankle. If not for the helpful comments of reviewers, I would have returned the boots. I’ve worn the boot for ~4 hours a day and with each day, the fit significantly improved. Today is day 4 of the break-in process and the boots are already comfortable enough to wear all day. The chafing has gone and it’s easier to put on and take off but a shoehorn is still helpful. I see why they put 2 tabs on each boot!
Size up
This is my first pair of blundstones, and I have been very pleasantly surprised! Even with the heel, these boots have been lightweight, supportive, and comfortable for daily use (for me, this has been 3-6 miles of walking city streets). I have worn these in both snow and rain conditions, and my feet have remained dry. I typically wear a size 6-6.5, but I did have to size up to a 7 for these. However, I did not have to break them in at all!
Not for large feet
The boots were beautiful, but getting on/off is the problem. I ordered a US size 10.5 and had a lot of difficulty getting on/off. The opening is very small and narrow. I have medium width feet and narrow ankles. The boots were a bit short/ narrow for the sizing. I noticed other high rated reviews were all for smaller shoe sizes. The way you have to angle your foot to get in/ out of the boot was nearly impossible. I almost got stuck in the boots. I had to return them.
Size UP!
My god this 6.5 feels like a 5.5. Size up half size if you want to wear with tights or thin socks and size up a full size if you want to wear winter socks!
