This size chart is meant to be a guide only, as Danner styles are built from various lasts that fit each foot differently. Generally, most people size down a half to a full size when buying Danner boots as compared to their shoe size from other major footwear brands.

I absolutely love these shoes. I had tried about 100 shoes before trying these and these fit me so perfectly and are so good. I just hiked the John Muir Trail with them (257 miles, 19 days). I kept seeing that they are not made for long-distance hiking and would like to disagree. You just gotta find what works for you! No break-in period needed. Hiked a 14-miler right out of the box. They are really light and feel more like sneakers. But are proper hiking shoes with a great grip. Love love
I love these. The color is gorgeous. I mostly desert hike so having the versatility of the breathable gortex is awesome. I also got to test them in snow, I was up to the top of the shoe, not a drop of wetness inside. Submerged in a small stream, totally dry. The grip is awesome, though I did have a bit of trouble on some wet rocks. I will say they were tight to begin with, but most shows are like that for me. I’m wide at my toe joints and skinny in the middle. However, after only two uses they are beyond comfortable. Great versatile shoe!!
As a diehard KEEN wearer I thought I would branch out and try a new brand for my daily trail running/hiking. My husband swears by Danner for some of his toughest climbing boots so I biit the bullet and bought a lightweight pair. I am thrilled, so far about 2 weeks in and logged 90 miles on the trails and I love these shoes. Lightweight but enough support for rougher/uneven terrain. Great over some big rocky swaths, they are incredibly comfortable and supportive. I am sold and so happy I pulled the trigger. They are true to size and I have hosed them off after each outing and they still look great. What a find.
Love these shoes. This is my second pair, same color.
I originally tried the Trail 2650 GTX in a 7, and they were too tight. I did see reviews that read “true to size” or “runs narrow.” I am typically a size 7, and I have a narrow foot. But — I’ve now tried on 4 or 5 different pairs of hiking shoes/boots by Danner, and I’m definitely a 7.5 in Danner. I highly recommend sizing up half a size from what you normally wear in street shoes. That little bit of extra room in the toe box makes all the difference. These shoes are sooo gorgeous, and dare I say, they have all the potential in the world to be as comfortable as my Mountain 600’s! I can’t wait to start walking in them to get them ready for the trail.
I don’t understand why everyone who gives these shoes only four stars complains mostly about the color, (while the hot red is actually the most attractive feature in my opinion) and nobody speaks of comfort, lightness, great ventilation and durability? Anyway, I’ve been hiking wearing these everywhere for the last three months, Montana, Utah, Hawaii, sand, mud, rocks, and they are perfect everywhere, so comfortable and so easy to clean. They actually faded a bit so the color is not as intense anymore but still I’ve got a ton of complements from all different kinds of people. I’m planning to buy another pair, just waiting for a cool design. Thank you Danner!
I love the look of the shoe and it's made really well, but for me, they were just too stiff. I put them on and walked on my treadmill for a mile or so, hoping they's be loosen up, and they did relax a bit, so I then went on a short 2 mile hike and my feet were hurting SO BAD I was limping hard the rest of the night; I generally hike 4-6 miles three times a week and walk every day so it's not that I'm out of shape or anything; these just HURT! I have narrow feet and wear a size 10 which gives a little extra room for hiking and running and a 9-10 for regular shoes depending on the style and brand. The fit was perfect and great for narrow feet. They feel really stable too, but something about the Gortex waterproofing made them too stiff for my feet. I purchased the Danner 2650 non-waterproof and they are great! Sizing is the same for both. On the other hand, my husband got the same shoe in grey, in his size, and he has no problem with foot pain, it could just be my feet are too sensitive, but he is a long-distance trail runner, so he's used to lot's of foot ponding and abuse. I tried on so many other hugely popular brands and they all felt not quite right and sort of cheap even though they wer $100+, but with Danner, I immedietly fell in love once I tried them on; you really feel the quality with this brand, but again, the GTX are too stiff in my opinion.
Nice and springy, but very narrow. I sized up and still ended up with lots of blisters. My biggest complaint is that the waterproofing wore off by the third time they got wet. Now, if the grass is even wet, my feet will be soaked in 15 minutes.
Just finished 70 miles of The Kungsleden in Sweden wearing my Danners. The Vibram soles provided the necessary stability over very rocky trails, the waterproofing performed well through numerous water crossings and not once did my toes get blistered (wearing Injinji toe socks surely helped!). The reinforced toes of the Danners are worn by this very glacial terrain, but they have plenty of miles ahead. Served well for me!
I received these as a gift after complaining about body aches after 2-7 mile walks for exercise (I’m in my 30s). They have been my go to shoe since. Right out of the box they have been super comfortable and ready for walks. I will say that they took a couple walks to really break them in (they’ve gotten more comfortable the more I’ve worn them), but I could have gone on a long walk without problems right from the get go. My body hasn’t hurt. No blisters. No rubbing. I did size up (I’m between a 10 and 10.5) and I don’t regret it. Would highly recommend. Definitely a great first experience with Danner.
