I have over a dozen Helinox items, and this thing is awesome. I have about 5 years of use on my Chair One, with tons of places it has gone. I am on the heavier side (260 lbs and 6'2") and the Chair One XL takes things to a new level. The whole frame is beefed up much stronger, and the size of the chair allows you to relax and chill since it wraps around you completely. Hoping they will offer it in Multicam eventually. Packed size is the same as by Beach Chair, and the weight and pack size is the only downside, but is a compromise I willing to endure just to have this comfy chair.
I admit, I have been nothing but impressed with the Helinox line of furniture. I was an early adopter of their Chair One back before everyone started copying the design. I am a bigger guy though, and almost all of the copycat chairs are rated for less weight, and simply do not feel as sturdy when I am in them. I have a Sunset chair which I felt was the pinnacle for a larger camp chair that folds up super small. This one though gives it a serious challenge. The seat is huge! I am no longer squashed when sitting in it, and the sides essentially work as an impromptu armrest when you are sitting. If I sit a little sideways and lean back my head nestles nicely in the upper corner to the point that I was able to take a nap in it. It lacks the high backrest of the Sunset, but overall it is not all that bad. I also don't recall every falling asleep in the Sunset, but I was able to do that twice in this chair. The chair height is great as well - much less stress on these old knees when getting up as compared to the smaller camp chairs. Overall I am pleasantly surprised with it, and was glad to get it on clearance recently. It will find a regular spot in my gear for upcoming campouts.
Wanted a light hiking or backpacking chair. After reading reviews on many; I decided to give one a try even though pricey. I like it. I’m 6’3” and 210lbs. Comfortable, easy to assemble and breakdown, sturdy. Definitely, a keeper. Cheaper ones out there but not sure of quality based on other reviews and my tire kicking in different stores.
This chair is easy to carry, easy to setup and very comfortable. I am six feet and three inches tall. I weigh two hundred fifty pounds. This chair is perfect for me with room to grow
I almost didn’t the x large but once I got it I loved it. I’m 6 foot 230 lb this fits me great and fits my motorcycle perfectly.
I am on the bigger side of the human spectrum when it comes to the outdoor world. I always wanted a cool Helinox chair but was concerned about the weight limit. I was really stoked when i saw the Chair One XL i jumped. Great decision. The wider, taller seat is perfect for my big ol' self and i am greatly appreciative. Thanks Helinox for making great products!
Good seat height, sturdy & roomy. Much easier to get out of than the smaller version.
