Pros: kept me warm while hiking in 18F in the snow in colorado. I literally said out loud, "good job puffy". Squishes down well. the hood is a life saver. cute. I got both the S and XS and while the XS fit well and was more form fitting (I'm 34D and both were able to zip over chest, although the S more easily) I ultimately went with the S so I can layer both under and over. cons: I have noticed lil feathers coming out more and more over time. I don't think I'm that rough with it but it is just something I've noticed.
I purchased this jacket a few seasons ago. washed and dried as per manufacturer guidelines, and four seasons later no longer is unwearable! All the down has either made it way out or wasn't enough for the start. I reached out to Arc'teryx directly for warrantee availability . I was taken back by the lack of concern. "You must have washed it incorrectly and proceeded to send me washing instructions . I had in fact washed it exactly as I was supposed to. Communicated that with them, send photos to document my claim, and they refused to even take a look at the jacket and completely dismissed my attempt to get the jacket repaired or replaced. The CLAIM to have a " life of garment" guarantee, but that isn't true and VERY misleading and disappointing. So if you are not sure if this is the jacket for you and are considering a different brand , I would recommend not purchasing Arc'Teryx. That being said I have five other different styles of this brand but will never purchase anything else based on my support / warrantee experience.
Super disappointed in quality. After about a year of very light wear (I have three winter coats) and minimal washing (following care instructions), all the down disappeared from huge panel on back and arm. Super bummed because $$. Would not buy again.
I had the perfect opportunity to test drive the Arc'teryx Women's Cerium Down Hoodie this weekend while working marathon weekend in Philadelphia in absolutely frigid conditions. I worked about 12 hours a day on Saturday and Sunday with wind chill in the teens and this jacket NAILED IT. Does Arc'teryx make socks because if they're as cozy and comfortable as this jacket, *that's* what I'll invest in next. The jacket is stylish, a beautiful shade of blue, and warm as can be. I even snagged something on the front of the jacket and cringed, expecting it to rip, and it didn't -- thank goodness! So it's good, high quality material and light, but substantial. The hood is nice and deep (and fit comfortably over my pom pom beanie). I was able to layer base layers underneath and it still fit with a slim profile. I think I'd like a little sturdier/heavier zipper pull, but that's getting into brass tacks. If you need something warm AND stylish, this jacket absolutely delivers.
I bought this jacket and in less than two years the inside lining of the jacket had five wholes in it. The company warranty was horrible . They offered a 50% off coupon. No thanks!
I had the same experience as this review. . . Super disappointed in quality. After about a year of very light wear (I have three winter coats) and minimal washing (following care instructions), all the down disappeared from back and arms. Super bummed because $$$. Would not buy again.
very warm and comfortable jacket. Too bad it only last 1 day walking around NYC
I'm 5'3" and a little curvier in the waist/thighs, and shorter torso - I picked this coat (in medium) over the Cotopaxi Women's Fuego Hooded Down Jacket Denim Stripes (small) because it has a longer bottom and slightly wider hem - which I prefer. Overall it seems to fit great, and the inside pocket has a super lightweight pouch to stuff the jacket in, which I thought was cool. I haven't actually worn it in colder temps yet - but assuming it will be fine based on the 850 fill. I needed a medium coat for various activities (from hiking in the mountains to running errands around town) - I'm pretty confident this will meet my expectations.
Nice puffy Athletic fit. Size up or expect to limit your base layers. It’s the zippers. The pockets zips are fine but the main zipper is ridiculously lightweight. Looks too fragile for a winter jacket and has no place on a premium garment costing $400. You’d think Arc’teryx would have read their reviews and upgraded it by now. Not confidence inspiring. As far as the other reviews about feather migration it hasn’t been a problem but the light colored material will allow you to see feathers if that’s a concern. The puffy is not waterproof so you can expect to use it with a shell or wear a fleece that day. Nice zipped hand warmer pockets and an interior pocket with a removable stuff sack is nice. Overall typical Arc’teryx garment. Beautiful and pricey. But those zippers. Hmmm
LOVE! Figure flattering and more importantly WARM! Spent 6 days early January backpacking the Grand Canyon with it. I didn’t wear it while backpacking because it would have been too hot for me but I did wear it around the campsites. Temps dropped to low 20s and it kept me toasty especially with the hood on. I did lose a few feathers in the canyon but not an alarming amount. It’s very light and packs small. I’m 5 feet tall, 135lbs, pear/spoon shaped. I got a medium and it fits well with some room to layer underneath.
