They sit higher than most packable chairs making them easy to get into and out of. Very light and small when stored. The shock corded frame comes together quickly after the first time. Very comfortable and sturdy for this type of chair. The only thing missing is a water bottle holder and a shade.

Very uncomfortable
Shelly

After reading the reviews I was surprised to dislike this chair so much. The material is stretched so tightly that the only way to sit comfortably is to sit up right. The sides cut into your arms and the bottom into your thighs. The head rest has a bar going through it that makes it uncomfortable to lay back. I suspect this chair is designed solely for men 5’10’’ and 130 lbs.

Saggy bottom

I've rec'd this chair to MANY friends/family, and still others have asked when they've seen and sat in it. Amazing chair. Unfortunately the seat now sags to the pint where it bottoms out on the lower cross bar except in a very slumped sitting position, or when sitting perfectly erect and upright, neither of which are terribly comfortable. I am (nor is anyone who has briefly tried the chair) Nowhere near the max weight load for the chair... At my heaviest 215lbs, and just below 200lbs for the past year+. This chair was bought new from REI in late June of 2021...just over two years ownership and has seen VERY LIMITED USE. It has yet to go camping in fact and has only been used at half a dozen little league baseball games, and perhaps a dozen or slightly more sitting session on our deck outside in summer. Beyond that it has remained stored in a closet in it's bag. It has never seen more than a light sprinkle of precipitation and looks as new as the day it was bought ... Except for it's saggy bottom.. Honestly a giant disappointment such a short time on in it's age/use. Not sure if mine is somehow seamed wrong/poorly, but I can't rec this chair anymore and I'm well out of the REI 1 year policy quite obviously. I'll contact you folks at Big Agnes this week and hope for the best and that this review can be updated favorably in future.

Worth the weight

This chair is great! While I wouldn’t necessarily take it on a multi day backpack trip I do take it on shorter overnight hikes. The comfort is worth every ounce. I especially like that I don’t slide out of it.

Great for geezer glamping

In my sixth decade, I can’t camp like I used to, nor can I lug heavy chairs from car to site. This chair is perfect - long back (great for resting my head!), sets up quickly and easily, and the distance between the seat and the ground enables me to get out of the chair easily!

WAS my favorite chair (still is)

I had this chair from when it first came out. I switched from the Eno chairs because the folding system on this one went way down in diameter and easily packed into its own slim, streamlined, lightweight, shoulder-ready satchel. Fantastically comfortable chair. And I loved being the only guy on the block with a big agnes chair. Or the only guy on the block at all. Had a lot of great trips and campfires with this. NOW, here's the rub....And if you know rubs, you know there's always a rub. IF you get up to do anything while sitting around the campfire MAKE SURE YOU LEAVE YOUR PHONE OR JACKET OR SOME TYPE OF WEIGHT IN THE SEAT OF THIS CHAIR. If a fly farts, this chair will tip over into the fire and instantly melt. This happened to me. Contacted the great people at BA for a new skin and they did not have one. They gave me 30% off, they are great kids. But this thing is going for like 2 hundy now and it's way overpriced at that. I have thousands in BA gear, can't do it if every time someone walks by my chair tips into the fire. I don't have the attention span to keep track. It was an awesome chair which it lasted!!

Very comfy for bigger men

I researched a ton of portable chairs before landing on this one. I bought this chair primarily to use while watching my kiddo perform at sporting events. I use this chair approximately 5 hours each week. The chair is quite portable and easy to carry in it's bag. It only takes about 30 seconds to set it up. The metal frame is very sturdy, and the bungee cords poles makes setup a breeze. I am 6'2" and weigh 255 (in my forties). I struggled to find a portable chair that could hold my larger frame and would still be comfortable. This chair hits the mark! The chair doesn't have arms or drink holders, but this has not been a big deal for me. I purchased the Big Agnes clip-on drink holder, and it works perfectly with this chair. I also own the Joey Travel chair which is a very comfy chair as well, but the back isn't nearly as high as the one on this chair. I have sat for hours on end in this chair, and it remains comfortable. The chair weighs right at 3 pounds, so it's quite heavy for a backpacking excursion. I may still give it a go on a shorter trip, just because it's so comfortable.

Great chair. Very compact for hiking.

Picked up the chair after purchasing online with a gift certificate I purchased so the chair would be available when I arrived in Anchorage from Texas. Didn't look at the chair just left straight for a float trip in Western Alaska. Have to be honest I dont know if the back two rubber feet were missing or came off on the first night in camp but they were not there on the second night. The chair was great very comfortable and easy to set up and take down but a pain to find solid ground to support the back of the chair. After the trip contacted Big Agnes and they sent two new rubber feet within 5 days. Great chair and I ordered another for our camp trailer back in Texas. Thanks to REI for working with me to make the chair available and a big thank you to Big Agnes for the follow up service.

Not comfortable, but lightweight and easy set up

The set up is super easy, it’s really lightweight...but it’s not that comfortable. The seat was too shallow for me (5’9” 140lb). I found the REI macro (bought the Sherpa lined) chair to be much more comfortable even though the back wasn’t quite as high.

Perfect Lightweight Camp Chair

Great, lightweight chair. I really appreciate the high back as it makes it very comfortable to sit in. We bought two for our small camper to save on space and the chair perfectly fits the bill. Easy to set up and collapse, sturdy, and packs small.
