Happy with it!
Bought this a few weeks ago, it’s my first real bike as an adult. Really enjoying it, it works great for what I use it for; a paved bike trail.
Finally pain free Cruising
This bike is comfortable and makes riding enjoyable again. I gave up a road bike and a mountain bike because of sciatic, back pain, and my hands falling asleep no matter how high I set the handlebars. Upright cruising did the trick. I would buy the large version of this bike if REI would carry it.
Electra Cruiser 7D
Great bike and a really comfortable and smooth ride. This is our 5th Electra (4 Townies and 1 Cruiser) bike and I definitely recommend this bike Or any Electra especially from REI.
makes a great motorized bicycle.
I purchased the Cruiser 7D about a month ago. First thing I did was install a Phantom 85 engine on it. Boy does it go, it takes me up steep hill country roads. And if none of that excites you, the bike just looks awesome.
Not for the serious bicyclist.
First I will say that for the money, this is a decent bike. A big problem is the quality of the wheels, given the seating position and the heaviness of the tires. First thing you'll do is replace the tubes. You'll have to. Next thing you'll do is replace spokes; they are too light weight for these wheels. If you ride more than around the block, you'll be replacing the seat. If you ride djdpw day, you'll be replacing the silly twist shifter. I've done these things, and I can still somewhat enjoy the ride as long as I'm not trying to get somewhere in a serious way. That is...the geometry (which Electra seems to be all about) is kind of a nightmare. Yes...it's true, you can put your foot on the ground comfortably when you stop. And yes, it's true the company has protected this feature in court. NO ONE CARES! it does NOT make for a better ride. Not even close. To summarize....move on. It's cute, but not for the serious. For me, this will be a learning experience, and a nicely made black frame that decorates my wall. No more Electra bikes for me, thank you.
great beach cruiser!
i got the cheapest bike i could find in all od Santa Cruz, i was not dissapointed this is a hreat bike. for $440 i got the brakes and a 7 speed grip shifter. i love old classic beach cruiser and this a nice one. it is an another Electra, my last bike was also one. buy it youll love it it if you want a crusier for you or you older kid that it would still fit size wise,
Stylish, functional and fun
It is a very nice bike. It helps me get around town with ease and looks very stylish. I’ve gotten many comments on how lovely the bike looks as I gallivant around town to do my daily chores. The only downside is it does not have a basket upfront to carry my groceries.
