Great looking and comfortable casual shoe
In my opinion, these are one of the nicest looking casual shoes I have owned. They are very comfortable and should be durable given the vibram sole and the nubuck leather uppers. My shoes came with both a reddish and also a blue pair of laces which were quite a bit too long and didn't feel of my preferred quality so I purchased a replacement pair of laces in black which I think improves the look of the shoe overall. I think they run at the upper range of being true to size. I found the more secure hikers lacing and knot at the top of the foot makes the fit and security perfect.
laces are terrible
i love the shoes... i’m on my 3rd pair,but the laces are astonishingly bad. the reflective strands started fraying on first wearing and laces themselves were visibly frayed within a week. the “valley” model (same shoe without gortex) has plain red laces that lasted as expected. neither rei or merrell sells round red laces.they do include a second pair of no-reflective laces but they are a somewhat garish color. 5 star other than having to spend 10$ for special order burgundy laces (+ another $10 for buying a red lace that was way too bright) less than a week into ownership.
Not what Hoped for
All that this shoe has going for it is its looks and maybe that it's waterproof. Craftsmanship seems okay but materials feel thin and cheap. Does not have the classic Merrell comfort either. This shoe also offers no warmth at all and in fact seems like my feet are colder with these shoes on than off. Merrell are not making quality shoes like they used to. Very disappointed.
Tough shoes, long laces
I like these shoes, but the laces are like a foot too long. I hand to cut them and reconfigure them to look right. Even double knotted they touched the ground. It didn’t make sense. I checked the Merrell site for replacements in a shorter length but nothing was available. Despite this, I like Merrell shoes.
All around walking
Comfortable just slip them on and get moving no hotspots chaffing or concerns. Really enjoyable and love the option of the red laces nice contrast and accent. I would purchase these Merrill shoes again. Bonus got them on sale at REI Bellingham great people. Thanks Steven
Great fitting shoe
Bought these to replace another waterproof shoes that had seem better days. From the moment I tried these on I noticed the comfort. Especially the arch support as well as the rest of the shoe. I would buy these again in a heart beet.
Confortable
The shoes are confortable but i thougt that because of the vibram sole they would last even more, the shoes are very strong on the leather part and they dont get dirty easily
Extremely light and comfortable
These shoes are very light and comfortable. At first I thought the back was going to be too low cut but after I got used to the fit there was no issue.
So far so good
These are so far making for a good pair of riding shoes. They grip the pedals well enough, also my feet are sore after a good long ride.
Nice looking trail shoes
I got these for the rainy season. I haven’t really put them through their paces but they look and feel great for daily use.
