Solid choice
Pros: Bright, good battery life, basically everything you need from a light. Cons: LED indicator on top is bright and distracting 'Off' switch involves holding the button for 4 seconds, which is twice as long as it needs to be Strap is short and can only just fit around my bars 'Blink' mode is unintuitive to access

Limited product life
I bought one three months ago because of the ability to mount it to my helmet. This morning I found that I could not get it to accept a charge despite using every cord andevery port I have. I have gone on to order TWO more in case this happens again. At $40 apiece I don’t expect them to last indefinitely but certainly longer than 3 months.

Broken too soon

This light was great, but only at the beginning. I was only able to recharge it twice before it stopped charging. I didn’t even know it wasn’t charging until I used it the next day and the red light lit up to tell me it was almost out of battery. And when I tried to charge it that night, I had to jiggle the cord just so it would charge. And then, the battery was out not even two days after. So I’m only assuming that it didn’t get to charge after I jiggled the cord. The beam of the light was great. It had 3 levels. The lowest setting was even good at 5:30am. This was easy to put on/off the bike. And it was great that it was rechargeable and how small and lightweight it was. Hence the 2 stars. I’ll be returning this at the store tomorrow.

Perfect headlamp for safety

With shorter daylight, I decided a headlight would be a good idea for safety reasons. After reviewing multiple reviews of headlights on the REI website, I went with this one, based on price and size and positive reviews. It has proven to perform exactly as advertised. Give great light, easy to mount, easy to toggle through the multiple light levels. Only problem is as others expressed, a bit tricky to get into flash mode. The instructions are not all that useful with respect to this function. Once you get the hang of it, works great. Stop signs a good 100 feet away light up from beam and flashing. As for holding, charge, so far my rides have not used up a charge, though I am only using it in flash mode.

was expecting more

Pros: Bright, the elastic band mounting lets you move it between bikes or leave it at home. Cons: Too expensive for what you get. Round light beam not optimized for biking. One button, selecting a mode is like sending Morse Code. Reliability? My first one was DOA. Good Cus Service, I called they mailed a replacement.

bright light but just stopped working

One of the best lights I have. 50 feet of coverage. Pi Annoys motorist who flash their bright lights. So they see me at night. Unfortunately, it stopped working. Got a red light on the top and recharged it. Would not turn on a half hour after the charge.... Very annoyed.

You need to "unlock" it to get it to work!!!!!

Great product, but I returned my first run at this because of the "unlocking" feature and thought the battery wasn't charging. My second one had the same problem and thought it had to be something else and discovered these feature. I need bigger instructions or tape or something over the button so it is dummy proof.

Broken after 6 mo!

This worked well for 6 months and then stopped charging. Even after charging for a long while, when I try to turn it on, the button turns red and the light flashes briefly and then goes out. I am no longer going to buy this kind of bike light, as my previous one also stopped working (though after maybe 1-2 years).

Great light, but insufficient for trail riding

Light is really easy to use and secure on the handlebar, despite riding on bumpy singletrack. That said, this light is simply not powerful enough for mountain biking, at least not in the forests of the PNW. I will be upgrading to something more powerful and keeping this light for road riding--or as a secondary helmet light for mountain biking.

Stopped charging

Great light but after 5-6 months it stopped charging and this happened twice. Thankfully REI took the back and refunded my money.
