The boot does not last! Durability if very poor.
I really enjoyed this super light boot however, just after 2 years, the rivets holding the buckles wore out and fell out. Now, I am no longer able to buckle up the boot. The placement of the rivets on the inner side is poorly designed. I noticed most ski boots will move it upwards where the boots do not touch each other. I contacted Salomon warranty to see if there were any recalls on this boot and I have not heard back. I like everything else about this boot, I wish they made them to last. Also, the back pin for walk/ski switch fell out which I fixed with a screw.
Hi! We apprecaite your feedback albeit regret that you are not completely satisfied with your product. Please contact us via https://www.salomon.com/en-us/contact so that we can find a solution for you. We hope to hear from you soon. All the best, Jan
Would not recommend!
I had the boots for about 1 year when one of the interchangeable soles ripped out of the bottom of the boot. The plastic threads just pulled right out of the boot while I was making a turn on moderate in-bounds terrain. It has been almost a month since I submitted a warranty claim and shipped my boots to Salomon, and they have yet to even look at the boots or process my warranty claim. I will never buy Salomon boots again, and I think the interchangeable sole design for these boots is sketchy.
Salomon not honoring warranty
The boots were good until the liner foam tore and the outer fabric is coming apart at ripped at a seam after just 2 months of use. This is clearly a manufacturing or design defect, but Salomon said they won't honor the warranty simply because they do not stock the liners. Well, that's not how good companies take care of their customers.
Just a Great Boot
I'm a paid patroller in the midwest. I've used these boots from just before Thanksgiving to mid March for three seasons. Monday through Friday, 9:00-6:00, so somewhere around 240+ days in them. I have replaced the sole plates and liners once.I use custom insoles that are heated. If I have to walk far, I will put them in the walk mode, which is effortless. I do not skin up with them. I buckle them in the morning and don't unbuckle them until the end of my shift. It is just a great every day boot. At the end of the season, I head to Montana and switch to the 130 flex in this boot. I can bend a ski as much as I want with these. Oh, I'm also a PSIA Level ll instructor. Did I mention how light they are?
Ski nicely but very poor quality
These boots ski very nicely but are poor quality. Like another reviewer, the rivets holding the buckles on wore off incredibly fast - severely worn after 1 week of skiing and then one had completely gone after two weeks of skiing.
Hi Kiran, Thanks for taking the time to write a review of our product. It is very important to us to hear how our gear behaves in the field. We do offer a 2-year warranty on our products and this will also include the ski boots. Please get in touch with your retailer and file a warranty claim. Take care.
Great Fit! Range of Motion for Uphills is limited
I have really enjoyed this boots especially the fit, but I recently had trouble when I used them numerous days in a row. The range of motion for uphill climbing is extremely limited. Once I got a bruise on my shin from the boot shell, it was almost impossible for me to wear the boots because the front of the boot was digging into my shin on every uphill stride. Luckily it only happen on one shin and my son traded me a boot half way up the skin track. I'm going to need to find a boot with more uphill range of motion in the future, and I'm sad because the boots are so darn comfortable otherwise. So, if you do mostly downhill skiing with an occasional uphill excursion, then you will probably be fine, but be careful about taking these books on an extended trip to the back country.
Wet feet + plastic digging into foot
I have had these boots for a few seasons. The design is awful, they allow water in resulting in wet feet. If you undo the boots on a lift, careful as snow/ice will pack in underneath the ridge, resulting in all sorts of issues. I have had them looked at countless times but still have a ridge digging into my left foot. Really needs two buckles not really stiff enough with a strap only at the top

Caution with Boot and shoe online orders
Caution with online orders when it come to boots. I am a huge fan of Salomon ski boots, I have been skiing them for 20 years. So I didn't think I would have any problems with ordering these on line Wrong, the size is spot on but this boot has a bit of a pinch point or pressure point at my lower shin. I may need to buy some shinguards designed just for ski boots, time will tell.
Super Lightweight
I bought these boots brand new 2 seasons ago and they changed my life. So much lighter than any other boot. The walk mode is easy to click on and off. Super comfortable (didn't even have to heat mold them just skied in them and my foot heat molded them for me). I've never had a problem changing the bottom of the soles out either and I ski very aggressively.
Excellent boots
Best boots I have owned, formable shell, light weight, AT / downhill
