Quality Material, Sizing Not Perfect
I love Ruffwear products and I researched various jackets to help my short-haired dog beat the cold weather. I love the durability and quality materials of this jacket that hold up to hiking, playing, rolling in dirt/mud. It's a good coat for cold mornings and nights, but I don't think it will keep my short-hair dog warm enough in the snowy, windy weather. The clips are good so far, they don't slide out of place after adjustments. But what I wish were better about this jacket is the sizing. My dog is medium size 50lbs. and she was between a small and a medium jacket. The small is too short and the medium is too wide and gaps. The measurements should be displayed like pants (waist and length). Ruffwear needs to improve this process so I don't have to order two jackets and guess with sizing and not have either size meet the marks.

Maybe
My dog owns quite a few things from ruffwear. I went to REI today and tried on the small (same size as his ruffwear harness) it seems too big for him. He’s 35 pounds. An Australian Cattle dog mix. I’ll include photos but I almost wonder if I’d want to try to order extra small online to compare.

Great winter jacket

Great quality jacket for winter romping. Got this for street and park walks in the snow and sleet. A little staticky pulling it on and off, but it’s easy to use, keeps her dry, and doesn’t seem to generate extra heat. She’s 26 lbs and long with a small neck so while the small fit her body perfectly, it gapes a bit at the neck when she sits (just the way she’s made). Big fan of ruffwear after this jacket - well constructed and feels like it will last.

Fits the bill

I had been looking around for the right jacket for my redbone coonhound for a while now. Finally decided on the Stumptown jacket for her. My dog's breed has fairly short hair and a lot of fleece-y jackets kind of catch her hair and make it uncomfortable for her. With the Stumptown being more of a nylon or smooth interior it doesn't bug her like a lot of other jackets I looked at. My only complaint it sometimes it can kind of "ride up" on my pup to where the collar is pretty much to the base of her head. I know this is just how the cut of the jacket is with her build (deep, v-shaped rib cage that is very tapered) so on most dogs this probably won't be much of an issue. And even for us it's something we can look past. We're a couple 20 degree hikes into the jacket and she isn't scratching at it, pulling it, or flopping on the ground to roll around to itch like she has with other jackets.

New favorite jacket!

We just moved to Oregon so I wanted a decently warm/protective coat for my dog. This stumptown jacket is really great quality and super stylish! It's incredibly easy to put on and off and my dog WILLINGLY puts the coat on which is surprising because he usually does a few zooms across the living room until he's ready for other jackets or harnesses to be put on lol but I think he makes it so easy to put on because he probably does feel warm in this jacket which is great. Since we usually clip our dogs leash to the front clip on his his harness, I was initially worried that it would be difficult to clip his leash onto his harness through the jacket or that it would bunch up. Luckily this jacket is adjustable enough that we can put his front-rage ruffwear harness underneath it or a blue-9 harness and there's no issue with it or front-clipping since the front of the jacket is in a sort of v-neck shape. Measurements: Our dog is a pit-mix, medium size, about 50lbs and he wears a Medium in the stumptown. It's a little big on him in the back and still has plenty of space to adjust the straps on his torso. Definitely recommend!

BUY THIS

Bought this for my 60lb Golden Retriever when we relocated to Oregon in the cold/rainy season. After the first 10 minutes she LOVED it, like wants to cuddle with it when she isn’t wearing it and sleeps on it. The construction is fantastic and it’s really easy on/off. The fit is great also, rather than being baggy it is just like she is wearing a coat.

Better than going naked!

The measurements for this jacket were spot on. My dog is a 45lb mutt and the small fit like a dream. I’m not sure if it actually kept him warm, it was only 2 degrees out and he can’t talk...so who knows! But he looked darn cute wearing it!

Perfect Dog Jacket

Totally worth the price! It’s easy to clean, durable, fits over his harness, looks great! We started with a standard pet-store dog jacket but nothing compared to this one, highly recommend!

Great jacket!

This has been a great jacket for my dog. He loves the cold and has long(ish) hair, but it’s been great to have another layer when hiking in the winter time. He has ran through many bushes and the jacket hasn’t torn at all. He is fairly long and about 70 pounds. I got a size medium and it fits fine. I also use a front clip harness for him and it’s easy to slip the leash out of the neck slot.

Her favorite coat. And thats saying something.

Our go-to coat here on the Coast! Works great here with our fog, sea mist, and humidity. No so insulated that she cant wear it hear. Insulated enough for those few days we dip below freezing.
