Got rid of cat urine odor!
I recently had the misfortune of discovering my son’s brand new sleeping bag was covered in cat urine after he left it out in the living room. I know that washing bags isn’t ideal, even for synthetic, but we had no choice. After 2 hot washes with regular detergent the odor was still powerful. We went to our local REI (Bend, OR) but they didn’t have anything on the shelf that met our needs. I planned to try the pet store next when the associate came out of the back room with this product. After just one use on the soak setting the odor was almost gone. We gave it one more wash on the regular cycle and it worked! Highly recommend this product!
Saved my mildewed tent!
A dear, young, friend borrowed my tent and packed it away wet. Boo. While reading through REI's tent cleaning tips, I saw that they recommended this product for mildew. So I though I would give it a shot before throwing out what was a nice tent. It's fantastic! I followed the directions (worried about the water proofing and seals, I set a timer for the soak) and the tent smelled 'as good as new' right when I pulled it out of the tub. I'm thrilled to not be tossing my tent in the dumpster!
Thru hiker stench is real
If you have ever smelled a backpack after a Thru hiker, you know just how STANKY our gear is. This knocked it out just fine.
Worked like a charm
I had a tent and groundcloth that had never been stored wet but still had gotten pretty musty smelling over the period of a few years. This product worked wonders at getting rid of the smell. When I first took it out of the solution and hung it up it still seemed to have some odor but I thought I would let it dry before I did it again. However, after drying and sitting open for several days any hint of mustiness was completely gone. I'm really impressed with this product and I have a lot of it still left to use for other musty things.
Works
I thought my trusty old tent was bound for the trash - We'd left it up for months here in GA as our daughter's quarantine outpost, and it got dirty and moldy. After cleaning it as best we could it still had a funky smell. Tried the Odor Eliminator as a last resort and it totally did the trick. I was not expecting it to work at all but it did great. I'll be using this this winter on my performance base layers that have a tendency to get gnarly
Pleasantly Surprised
I must have unknowingly stored my down sleeping bag before it was fully dry because I brought it with me on a recent backpacking trip and it smelled absolutely horrible, immediately filling up my tent with a putrid smell. I used Gear Aid’s down wash when I got home but it didn’t remove the smell at all. I picked up some Odor Eliminator and after another wash the smell was completely removed. This stuff works! I’ll be using it on all my smell technical fabrics moving forward.
Works like a charm
Saved my Big Agnes from my forgetfulness - two weeks in the sack, wet, no mold but smelled very mildewy. The tent body was fine after a thorough clean with Nikwax Techwash but the fly was worse and I didn't want to wash the underside. Went to REI the next day and got this stuff, and it worked perfectly in one go, following the instructions on the back. Hope you don't need it for your tent like I did, but if you do it will save the day.
Unbelievable
I have a nearly 40 yr old Eureka tent that hadn’t been used for 10 years. It smelled sour and no amount of brush washing and fresh air could significantly reduce the odors. As a last ditch effort to salvage it, I thought it was worth ten bucks to try Revivex Odor Eliminator. Wow. One treatment, a straightforward soaking and drying process, removed 90% of the smell. I could use it now but will treat it one more time for good measure. Thanks Revivex.
Wet tent
I loaned my tent to a friend and a couple of months later found out it was packed up wet!! The odor was horrible. I called REI and they recommended this product. It really works!! I was almost ready to trash the tent. Thank you REI!!
Saved my tent
Used this on a TNF tent that had been in storage for about 6 years. The fly and stuff sack were covered in mildew. The tent body was not but everything smelled strongly of mildew. It took two washes in the tub and a few days set up in the sun to air out, but the smell is gone.
