[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The quality of this jacket is incredible. I bought it to go to the UK during Christmas 2008, where I walked in the rain and cold for most of my stay, without feeling it thanks to it. Since then I have used it in the bitter Chicago winter, in the Smoky Mountains, on the NC beaches for 4wd and winter walking on the sand, with Willow, my dog. Also to work on the roofs of buildings with a lot of wind and with all the comfort of movement that a technician in industrial equipment needs, etc. I still have it and despite dozens of washes, it's still like new. I love this jacket, I'm glad they continue to make it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had this jacket for a year now and I love the warmth and seasonal coverage that it provides. BUT, the pocket zippers on the liner get caught on the inner material the runs along the zipper. This morning, I had my wallet in my pocket when I had to stop and get gas. I could not zip open my pocket at all to get my wallet and ended up taking my jacket off and forcing the zipper open. The end result was I ripped the inner liner of the jacket. This happens quite often and mostly I would be able to reach in and pull the material out from under the zipper. But not this morning. Just for this point alone I would stay away for this jacket until Columbia fixes the design.
The Best quality jacket I have purchased. It fits perfectly to my son. Also I'm very much satisfied with customer service.
columbia quality is already satisfactory enough. You buy one product, but it offers multiple usage options.
i purchased this as a ski/snowboard jacket for my teenage son. the fabric is waterproof and feels substantial. The left breast pocket is slanted for easy access and all pockets have zipper with velco for extra security. the hat is zippered and the end flaps are tucked into a small pocket so it stays neatly away. the fleece liner feels more like felt, but it may be due to new fabric technology...it's less bulky which is probably better. the inner fleece does have snaps at the cuff and neck. the only thing i would suggest is to have the fleece arms elasticized. overall, i think its a great jacket and am very happy with the purchase.
Warm, comfortable, waterproof. Wore this jacket in 16 degrees F.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice design for the jacket, and well-made. Materials are nice, and it kept me warm on a chilly night recently. I love the Interchange feature, allowing me to swap liners or remove the liner for a thinner shell or warm fleece. One thing I ran into, though, was that I typically wear a large. And the large size in this jacket ran quite large on me. I also ordered the Summit Crest III jacket in a large size, and that one was a much better fit. I then returned the Bugaboo for a medium size, and that's a little snug, but a better fit than the large. So, just be aware that sizing may vary a bit. Not sure if I got a mis-labeled XL, but the large ran big on me.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this coat to replace a bugaboo that I had had for years (waterproofing gave out on the shell). But ended up returning in after a couple of days because the green color of the jacket didn't match the photo's on the webpage. The webpage shows a pale green, almost like you can see with glacial ice. The actual coat was a very intense medium green. Think astroturf from the 80's or if you took a green highlighter and went over the same line of text 20 times. Just couldn't stand the color, so back it went. . The Columbia store on the Mag Mile in Chicago only stocked like 3 colors, so couldn't see the actual coat ahead of time.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket is great. It does the essentials as you would expect any Columbia jacket to do like keep me warm through our cold Michigan winters, but the styling and color put it over the top. I purchased the Python Green/Peatmoss (come on, who dreams up these names?) because I wanted it to stand out. When I received the jacket the colors were even better than I had hoped for. I get compliments regularly. Could it be better? Sure (not the colors), I would like an inner zipping pocket, but it is not enough to make me regret getting this jacket. I feel sorry for all those thin-blooded citizens of our southern latitudes that will never have a need for this jacket.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband loves this jacket. He is using it as winter jacket. The fleece part looks amazing and feels great. My husband is XXL but we ordered XL after reading reviews. It does runs big and I do recommend to size down. My husband also likes V cuts, or athletic cuts since he used to be a body builder and has very wide shoulders. This jacket gives him comfortable space around shoulders. Fits nice. My husband has a space for another hoodie under if needed. Good length.
