No Oompa Loompa fit with these!
I walk my dog in Colorado - early am/late pm and I love the way these pants keep me warm. They are lined, warm, and provide wind protection. The jean/trouser fit is great. Many pants make you look like an Oompa Loompa like my snow pants. These are a little pricy but I feel they will be used a ton this year and in the future. I consider this an investment in my health because I walk so much more! I'm 5'8" and weigh160 pounds. I bought a 12 and they are perfect. Long length too which may be an issue if you are shorter, not sure.

Low Rise Outdoor Pants
I’m very tired of outdoor companies making low rise outdoor gear for women. When you are moving around hiking, climbing, and what not, low rise is not the play. At least give me mid rise so I can bend over without worrying about my underwear showing. Also if outdoor companies could make pants for women who don’t have a stick straight physique sometimes that would be awesome. Some of us have wider hips and butts.

BUY THESE

if you are looking for cold-weather hiking pants, these deserve a serious consideration - the lining is super-soft - love the stretch - front pockets fit my phone (of note, back pockets are too shallow and fit approx half of it) - stayed warm in sub-20 degree windchills - I only use these hiking, and have not had any issues with the button popping as some other reviewers have mentioned (there are interior drawstrings if you wish for a button-backup option) - I normally wear a size 28 or 29 in women's denim and bought these in a 10

Stud snap didn’t stay closed.

The pants are warm and comfortable. I used them for a week in Yellowstone during the holidays. I agree that they run a bit small. I often wear a size 4 but got a size 6 to accommodate long underwear. I liked the 32” length as I have long legs and pants are often too short. Unfortunately, the stud snap on the waistband popped open every time I bent over, such as to tie my shoe. I’m not sure if it was defective or just didn’t work well. When I returned them, there weren’t any in the store to compare mine to.

Great with flaws

These pants are perfect for snow shoeing or cross country, but as other reviewers mentioned the button pops open with the slightest pressure. Also, the rise is a little low. My crack nearly shows when I squat down. With a better button and a higher rise these would be perfect.

Attractive, comfortable but size up!

These are typicall high quality comfortable Kuhl pants. I love cool because they make clothing for women with real bodies. These pants had every feature I was looking for, wind and water resistant, lined, zip pockets, zip lower legs for easy on/off over hiking boots. Sadly, they definitely run small especially for active use. Highly recommend going up one size for a good fit with these. I have to return mine.

Perfect for winter activities

I bought these for XC skiing and they are just what I was looking for! Room for layers under but being fleece lined didn’t need for temps in the teens and 20s. Very comfortable and not bulky. Zippers at the bottom work well for going over boots and keeping snow out. I was worried these would be too long, but in the end glad I opted not to get the ‘short’ version since these were perfect length with boots.

Soft, warm, and attractive

I moved to the mountains last winter and never found lined hiking pants that I really liked. I tried these on at REI and bought them immediately. They've been perfect. I decided to buy another pair. When I came to this site to order I saw all of the negative comments about the snap closure. I ordered them anyway and then wore them in the house with the tags on for a number of hours to make sure the snap worked. I did! I now have 2 pairs of hiking pants that I love! They are wind resistant, snow resistant, warm, and soft. I wear them almost every day and love them.

Snap doesn't hold shut.

Great pants except they have a snap instead of a button to close the pants. The snap doesn't hold and continuously pops off. No the pants aren't to small, I have plenty of room in them. If it had a button I would buy more instead of returning it.
