Great looking helmet
I really liked how this helmet looked from when I was looking for one. I wanted something that doesn’t look to aggressive. I mostly use this on easy trails or urban roads. The adjustment didn’t seem to have a very wide range and the cushion seemed a bit thin. I measured my head for the helmet and I was right on the last range of both the medium and small. I found that the small fit a lot better. I did wish that that hole on the side for the lock is a bit bigger. My U-lock is not big enough to go through the bike and the helmet so I use the cord that goes with the U-lock and that does not fit into the hole.
Great Helmet for a Small Head
My wife and I both have small heads and don't like how most helmets fit, so this helmet looked like a good option. I ordered the matte black and she got a navy helmet that was like $5 more. Looks - it looks great from pretty much every angle. It's a bit bulbous from the front still, but I think that's just how every helmet is and there's no getting around it. Sometimes it reminds me of a horse jockey helmet, but overall it looks good. Fit - it fits perfectly. I watched a youtube review and the wearer says it shakes around on his head, but I haven't had this experience at all. Theres an adjustment strap for your chin, and theres a belt strap system in the back on my cheaper version that keeps the helmet snug on your head. My wife's version didn't come with a belt strap system but the dial strap system which you can see in my pics. Safety - the helmet seems pretty solid. My only concern was the magnet strap because it seems like that could come loose in an accident, but I've yanked on it pretty hard and it doesn't unstrap at all. It's because the magnet strap system is a little more complex than just attaching two magnets together - if that makes sense. My only gripe is there is a little less coverage for the back of your upper neck/lower head compared to other helmets. Two reviews that almost kept me from buying the helmet were that it was hot because of the lack of vents, and that it was a bad helmet in windy situations. I didn't experience any issues with wind. I still have yet to go long distance on a hot day, but heat was not an issue riding around my city.
The Perfect Helmet
This helmet is amazing. I first time out with it was for mountain biking. I had no problem adjusting the straps to get it to fit snugly and sit comfortably. Throughout the ride, which was full of bumps, jumps, and drops, the helmet never jostled around or came loose. I had a few falls, nothing head first, but the helmet took a few bumps and scrapes just fine. I really love the look and feel of it too!!
function & design
Thousand's motto is "a helmet you'd actually want to wear". They have certainly succeeded! The helmet is beautifully packaged, and definitely has the feel of a premium product. It is retro yet modern; minimalist yet striking. Aside from good looks, it has a few thoughtful features such as a magnetic buckle, and a pop-out lock hole that fits my U-Lock, so I don't have to lug around my helmet. This helmet is perfect for casual riders who want both style and safety. Outstanding product, highly recommended!
Sizing is inconvenient
This was my first choice helmet because of the design, but when I went into the store to try it on, found it's the only commuter helmet offered that doesn't have a dial to tighten/loosen its fit in the back. My head is apparently between sizes (even though each size gives a range), and there doesn't seem to be a good solution for that. One was too tight, the next size up felt too loose to be safe. I'm glad I didn't buy it online and I ended up getting an Electra instead.
Comfortable and Sleek
Wore my helmet today for the first time during a 12 mile ride at the park. It was comfortable and secure at the same time. Visor was perfect and my head stayed cool in hot, humid weather. Still getting used to the clasp but it's a great bike helmet. Excellent purchase if I do say so myself.
Love my Thousand Helmet!
I bought this helmet recently and it truly puts other helmets to shame. Not only is it sleek (design, leather strap, color selection), but it fits really comfortable on my head compared to other helmets that are too tight after a couple of hours after riding. The POP SOCKET is such a great feature. So many times I have opted out of wearing a helmet because I don't want to carry around a helmet with me - and now I can lock it with my bike. I was so happy with this purchase I bought one for my boyfriend!
The wind catcher
If you live anywhere remotely windy, or ride over 10mph, this thing is like attaching a sail to your head.
Looks good, fits well, high end features
Very impressed with the mechanisms for tightening the helmet around the head. Also the chin strap is one of those magnetic deals. Such a nice helmet!
Thousands Helmet
Thousands really needs to expand their line. My helmet is exceptional ❤️
