Perfect size for a daypack!

Last year I bought the Black Hole 35L backpack and have been using that everyday as a carry all. It was a little bulky but I loved how it was setup, so I stuck with it. So when I decided to get a smaller bag (to be a little more versatile) getting another Black Hole was my first choice. I'll admit that looking at it empty it looks very small, but once I got home and loaded it up with everything I had in the 35L (camera, spare lens, portfolio, journal, survival pouch, small first aid kit, business cards, pens, charging cables, and still had room to spare) I was amazed and very pleased. I can't wait to take it everywhere!

Was not rain resistant
Alan P

I love this pack - just the right size and very functional and feels good to use and handle. However, I went on a short hike with about 1 hour in a moderate rain and ended up with about a 1/4 inch of water pooled in the bottom of the pack and my clothes inside the pack were soaked. All zippers were closed, so rain must seep in through zippers and seams. This just didn't work for me because I wanted something that was at least water resistant.

killer daypack

my name is Chris and I'm a bag addict. I have a problem. with that out of the way.... this has become my favorite backpack. for casual use around town, a light weekend trip somewhere, or a hike with the family, this thing has been perfect for me. I'm 6'2"and skinny. Many daypacks don't fit me so hot. I've got a Patagonia Refugio 28L from 4 years ago- it's a nice pack too, but if I only have a little in it, it gets all floppy and uncomfortable on my back. this black hole fits me great, no matter the load. it's comfortable and looks great too. so far it's been bomb-proof on my adventures and I see no reason to believe it'll fail before I do.

Waterproof and Sharp-looking!

I travel internationally and hike regularly. Sometimes I show up to a region and find an unexpected hiking opportunity. This bag has immediately served its purpose by protecting my electronics from heavy rains (and minor flooding). In the office it has turned heads. I paired it with a Grid-it cable organizer and a few packing cubes. I am 5'1, so I was concerned it might not fit me well, but it has been comfortable with most moderate loads. I like that the computer locks into its own compartment to keep it from moving in light loads. I wish it had a little more room in the computer compartment to include a sleeve for padding.

Perfect!

This backpack fits comfortably on my 5'6" female frame. It truly is a black hole. You can throw tons of stuff into it, just keeps on making more room. It has a good set of zip pockets. Zipper does not get hung up on the stitching. Also, the exterior is true to its capability for not picking up lint, fuzz etc. The inside laptop storage area is very deep, good over the top clip. I intend to take this into the wilderness as well, but for now, it is working with me as I travel in Europe and will be my daily to-work backpack in the US replacing my other traditional Patagonia backpack, which snagged every shirt I work in the back.

Nice

I was going on a mini trip where I needed to walk 2 miles to my motel from the airport then I planned to take day hikes on the trails. This caught my eye. Would be better than a daybag or backpack I figured. Worked perfectly. Carried my tablet, cloths, hiking items, some food. Easy to access my plane tickets and a book. H20 holder came in handy. Love the bucket top opening. Had lots of rain since I was in SE Alaska. I only part that allowed in rain was the top of the pack which I expected. Daisy chain has uses. Road up high and was comfortable even with all my stuff. A waist belt is not needed. Would recommend it for a trip where you need more than a day pack but less than a backpack.

Durable, Versatile Bag

I have had my 25L daypack for just over 5 years. It's been on 8 international backpacking trips, and is the bag I reach for on every weekend trip. I have put this thing through the ringer. It looks like I purchased it last month. Never had a zipper stick or a strap or daisy chain break. The padding throughout the back and straps of the bag is still firm and comfortable. The water resistant upper/outer is actually water resistant. The design of the top zipper opening makes it easy to cram it full, but still be able to see everything for easy retrieval. I love this bag, and if it ever dies on me, I'll buy another one.

Minimalistic, but holds a lot

Bought this while on vacation to hold everything I was purchasing. 25 liters didn't seem like a lot, but was able to get this as my personal item on the airplane without a problem. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it held up to all the stuffing I did to get clothing and souvenirs in. The front pocket expands out, which was nice for holding items needed for easy access like a laptop charger. The top pocket held a lot of maps and papers. It would have been nice if the internal pockets inside the main compartment were larger, but was able to use them to hold an external charger and feed the cable thru the hydration hose port. Still need to take it on a day hike to see how it performs, but I'm satisfied so far.

Beautiful and tough

I put my backpacks through a lot riding to class taking to work getting tossed around in an ambulance and having one for those outdoor outings. I needs to be versatile and tough. My previous backpack got a hole in it and i didn't even have it for a year thats the only reason I decided to spend the money and get a fabric that could last. I purchased the duffel on sale awhile back and loved it so decided to get the backpack. I do wish the computer compartment was a little bigger and I worry it may be to nice and get stolen if left unattended on a college campus

Perfect Bike Commuter Pack!

This Daypack was the solution after months of searching for the perfect downsize from my big TPO-lined cordura Chrome backpack on my long bike commute. I'm a 5'6" female, and wanted something that wouldn't be so ginormous but could still carry a sorta ginormous load. This gets it done! It is streamlined, moves with my body and doesn't create drag on my ride, which can have some serious headwinds crossing the Golden Gate. It's relatively water-resistant (succesfully rode in two el nino storms), has a great assortment of pockets and well designed organization features, is lightweight but durable and looks slick. Especially like the top lid design (can stuff change of clothes, lunch, lock, books or laptop, layers) and the two outer zipper pockets - the top is perfect for energy gels, wallet and other quick access items, while the front one fits a small pump, tire repair kit and tube. The side water bottle holders are handy, too. Highly recommended!

Perfection

I absolutely love this pack. I used my previous North Face backpack for about 10 years before the padding finally started falling out. With the start of graduate school, I decided it was time to retire the old pack and get something new. After much research, I landed on this pack. Best. Decision. Ever. Not only is this pack absolutely fantastic to look at, it is extremely functional. The large main compartment provides ample room to hold all of my materials for multiple courses and labs. The water resistant design gives me piece of mind that my electronics are safe from the elements. I feel confident traveling with this bag because the zippers can be situated right by my head, making it challenging for nefarious folks to access my valuables. Hiking is a breeze in this backpack. I did not find the need for a waist strap, like other reviews mentioned. The chest strap was more than enough for my needs. Although our friendship is new, the durability of this pack makes me think we will be adventuring together for years to come. Thanks for the great bag, Patagonia!
