Don't breathe and zipper broke
These are the only cross country ski pants that have kept my legs warm. That being said, my legs are always soaked underneath. I can't feel the dampness on the outer fabric and they still keep my legs warm, but they don't breath at all. The ankle cuff does not go over a skate ski boot very well either which is probably why my zipper completely separated. Also there are no pockets which is a bit of a letdown. I would love to find a more breathable version of these that has a beefier zipper. I have a 35" waist and bought a size large and they fit snug in the waist and have a slight bit of stretch
Good Cross Country Ski Pants
I really like these pants a lot. They are warm enough for skiing, without being too warm. They are loose enough at the ankle to allow room for your boots, yet they are snug enough that they don't balloon out while skiing. My only complaint about them is that they have an elastic waistband, so you can't tighten them if you drop a few pounds. Other than that, they are very awesome!
Real sweat pants
These things trap moisture like no other. There is zero breathability. When you take them off after wearing them for even an hour, they are actually wet on the inside. I've never experienced this in any pant this bad, no even waterproof downhill ski pants. Do yourself a favor and wear any other pants to cross country ski than these.
Cheap construction
After one season of regular use, the zipper separated on one of the legs. As others have said, they don’t really breathe. After skiing, the pants feel dry but your legs will be wet. There are no pockets - just a little key bag like a swimsuit. All of this is a bummer because they fit and feel great. Finally - they do not support their products like North Face or Patagonia. You are redirected back to REI. The zippers also broke on my craft jacket. These will probably end up in a landfill.
Great purchase! Worth the price.
Light weight and water resistant! Got this for my son and he loves it.
Great with flaws
These are great pants for outdoor winter sports - I use them cross country skiing. They are warm, fairly windproof, and water-resistant enough to keep my backside dry when I end up in the snow. But they have one glaring flaw: They don't stay up very well. I am 33 in pants, and I am wearing the medium in the Craft Men's Force Pants, and I need suspenders. How hard would it be to add grippers or a drawstring to the waist? And one more thing (why this a 3-stars and not 4), would adding a pocket kill you?
Winter Biking in Fairbanks
Bought these for winter fat biking. Excellent wind protection up front but breathable at back, not too tight, not too loose, great comfort, good to about -15F for 1.5 hours with thigh length summer biking bibs underneath.
Low Price low quality
Not very warm. Not at all water resistant or water proof. After first use Nordic skiing I found my ankles were soaked through where the snow was stuck and then melted. Pockets…my oversight. No pockets.
Breathability
I really like how these pants fit. They are a little slim but not tight or restricting at all. My only complaint is the fabric. The fabric breathes very little. My legs are damp and sweaty after I ski in them. The moisture can't escape. If you need a pant that breathes look at another product.
Good fit, but...
The waistband would benefit from some type of adjustment, preferably a drawstring. The elastic waist did not prevent the pants from sliding down after only minutes of use.
