Nonsensical fit; not motion-friendly
I am 6'2", 215 lbs, competitive xc skier / cyclist. I ordered Men's XL. The premise of these pants is that the full zip allows you to wear them over another layer. They fit true to size in the waist, and something like a Men's M running tight in the legs— skin tight, can't bend at the hip and knee, can't fit over another layer. They are a full size smaller, or more, in the legs than the previous version, while remaining a true XL in the waist (so, fairly huge). I would question whether there is anyone out there buying XC ski pants who has an XL waist and M legs, so it's not like this is a 'fit preference'; it's a departure from how human bodies are proportioned and how they move. My guess is that something got lost in translation when they were upsizing the pattern to L and XL?
