KEEN  Targhee III Waterproof Mid Hiking Boots - Women's

Love the fit But like the other reviews I read, they do not hold up!! What's disappointing is MY boots, less than a year old, are in great shape EXCEPT for the area on the front sides of the shoes. That material is deteriorating and besides the fact that they are then not waterproof, they look really shabby. I tend to wear them because they are comfortable but they look like CRAP. As others said :DISAPPOINTING! So comfortable, I would like to try again but the reviews show that the same thing will happen again. Perhaps it's time to change the material you are using???

Issue: The material on the inner sole began to slit and tear onboth feet. this is the area below the metatarsal and just above the rubber sole. Usage: issie visible at 2 months in of wearing daily , less thank 1 mile walked daily. Waterproof is good at 3 months of use. Sole is comfortable and stabilizes ankle. Bummed about the tears because this could mean the shoe wont last a year if this tear opens further.

These were very good in rugged, rocky terrain, comfortable on day one. I even wore them for a hike the day after a half marathon (think sore/tired feet), and they were very comfortable and stable on sharp rocks, loose gravel, and steep hills. A little warm for the Mojave Desert in September, but not bad. When I first received them in the mail, I thought I'd made a mistake by ordering my normal size which seemed to be a half size too small, but when I wore them for my first hike, they were actually true to size.

I've done 2 hikes of 3 and 3.5 miles with them. My first hike was on a flat, but very muddy trail. I wore short socks to see how the boots would feel around bare skin. No problem at all. For my second hike, I chose a very rocky, hilly trail. I recently injured the top of my right foot at a kickboxing class and had been concerned about the boots would feel going downhill. Again, they worked perfectly, I actually forgot about any foot pain. One more thing I notice about them that was very. I've was the heel loop. I have big hands for a girl and a lot of women's shoes and boots have heel loops that are too small for my fingers.

I'm a long-time fan of the Keen Targhee mid hiking boots, and have gone through a dozen or so pairs over the years. They're not the most durable boot, nor the most waterproof, but they always fit me better than anything else on the market. Then came the Targhee III... The fit was changed to a narrower forefoot and toe box, a poorer fit to my foot but still tolerable. However, after less than a year of wear, the boots have failed along the seams shown in the image. On both sides of the boot, and on both feet. My husband's Targhee IIIs failed in the exact same way. Water now flows freely into the boots. This will be my last pair of Targhees unless this manufacturing defect is corrected.

Purchased KEEN Targhee III Mid WP Hiking Boots - Women’s on December last year. Really wasn’t doing any heavy hiking this year, however the sole on one shoe has excessively worn out on a heel surface. I have purchased KEEN shoes before and have another pair for much longer and its sole is still perfect. So, I don’t have a supinated foot. For the price I paid, I would expect the quality to be better. Keen manufacturing policy states that: KEEN is committed to ensuring that our products are free from manufacturing and material defects for one full year from the day you buy it. REI’s policy, however, only 90 days from the purchased date. I am starting a claim, will see how it goes.

I'll start with my one and only complaint: I wear a solid women's size 7, and this slipped off the back of my heels a little bit. Other than that, I really love these. They kept my ankles supported, did not cause blisters after 30 miles in three days, look very sharp and had mad traction. My feet did not ache except for the wee bit from breaking them in; but even brand new, they didn't take much to feel conformed to my foot. Lastly, my friend was envious of them because they are so good looking! And, oops, I guess I have one more tiny complaint: the pattern in the bottom of the shoe picks up pebbles and keeps them there, which is annoying.

I have fairly wide feet and hiking downhill used to be such a painful event for me due to my toes constantly being hammered. However, these are the first pair of boots that have actually given me the extra space around my toes that no other boots have never done before! I broke them in on a strenuous 12-mile hike and the boots performed like a champ. I paired them with pretty well padded socks and I finished the hike with no blisters, no pain, and extremely happy feet. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone whose feet are on the wider side. I also sized half a size up and found that to be the perfect fit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these boots for their durability to wear for work as a wilderness ranger. Unfortunately, after 2 trips out in them they’re already showing signs of wear that indicate they won’t last the season. The sole is already pulling away from the upper in the back of the boot creating a little pocket that collects rocks and dirt. I was also hoping the toe box would be a bit wider but my pinky toe pushes out again the shoe when I step which leads me to believe I’ll probably punch through it after a full season of rangering. I think for a casual hiker these would work if you like a stiff boot but they aren’t cut out for everyday use.

I have been a long time user / fan of Keen hiking boots and bought my first pair of Women's Targhee in 2009. Those boots finally wore out, and I was so happy to get another pair. I took them on a backpacking trip in which we covered ~ 20 miles over the course of three days and was amazed at how they performed. There were stream crossings, sand, muddy spots, trail dust- a variety of terrains. The shoes supported my feet well and dried reasonably quickly after stream crossings. Be sure to size up, though. I am normally a street size 7 and have always had to get a size 8 in Keen hiking boots.
