Great fleece
I have a few other Patagonia products that have been high quality, so got this when I needed a new fleece. It’s not the thickest fleece I’ve ever owned but I personally like the mid weight feel of it. Great quality, great fit. I’ve had it 4 months and have worn casually & for some winter running, still looks and feels brand new. I always hang dry. Does run a little large IMO. I’m usually a size small but took an XS in this one.
Fit and function are great, but pills immediately
I love the softness, fit and function of this. I bought it in grey and didn't want to take it off after trying it on. However, I just bought it and it pilled on the side panel after one wearing (I only wore an REI shell over it, and it didn't come into contact with anything rough). Also, it had a tremendous amount of lint which got all over a nice pair of black running tights, and the black shirt I wore underneath of it, after washing it. I have never seen a fleece be linty like this. I'm hoping the lint goes away (I just washed it again to address that) and that the pilling doesn't continue. It's an expensive shirt and shouldn't have these issues.
Almost Perfect lightweight fleece
I’ve been looking for a replacement for a very old North Face fleece that I wore ALL the time. It was great - never too warm, but it had a hole that I ignored for years while I searched. This Patagonia fleece is an almost perfect replacement. The weight is perfect, the soft fleece is perfect; I’ve been wearing it hiking, around the house, and even for one windy run, and it is nice and breathable. But there is an extra seam on the forearm that makes it pretty uncomfortable to push up the sleeves. What the heck? Who designed this? I’m keeping it but the seam irritates me every time. The color choices weren’t terribly inspiring but I got the navy and like it.
Ideal fleece
After years of looking for cheaper alternatives, nothing stands up against the quality of Patagonia. While a tad pricy, I'm a huge fan of this lightweight fleece. It's warm when you need it to be but it breathes when you're working hard. Personally, it's great on its own or as a thinner layer. It's easy to move in and, despite lots of use, doesn't show the wear I've put it through. I intend to pack mine along for some thru-hiking soon with a puffer and shell to layer. I'm 5'3 and 140# and the medium fits well. If you want an oversized feel, I also tried on the large and was tempted to get it for a more casual, cozy situation.
Poor quality
I bought this fleece about 4 months ago specifically to wear on Mondays to work. It is the worst quality Patagonia item my family has ever had. I’ve attached a photo of what the sleeves look like now!!!
Perfect Weight Fleece for Layering/Soft Material
Patagonia's micro D fleece is much lighter in weight than its Better Sweater and the material is very soft. Perfect with a base layer and a down or primaloft coat for layering and warmth. With Patagonia clothing, I usually order a SM but in this case, the small was too large (the sleeves were too long and the body too boxy). I exchanged it for an XS and it fit perfect with a base layer. If you want to wear this with something other than a base layer, you might need to size up. The length was just right for my height and build. The blue is not a navy but more light blue. The gray stone color is very nice. I also ordered this fleece in black. I am 5'2"/115 with a "thick middle".
Great for Layering
This pullover is thinner than I expected, but it's great for layering. I bought it with the intention of wearing it under a coat for late fall/early winter fishing. I ordered it in a size M (medium) and it fits me well. If I had purchased a small it would definitely be too tight, even though my measurements align within the range of S (chest 32, waist 28, hips 37). I feel that a measurement that is overlooked in the sizing chart is shoulder width. I wear a size M in just about any shirt bc my shoulder width is around 15.75in/40cm. With this pullover I can fit a base layer shirt underneath the pullover then I wear the Patagonia Torrentshell 3L raincoat (size M) as the outerlayer. It keeps me warm and dry when fishing. I've also been considering buying the nano puff jacket as a layer between the pullover and raincoat as it gets colder.
INCONSISTENT SIZING
This is my second return of poorly sized women's Patagonia clothing in the past few months. I have this pullover, size M in another color, purchased last year, fits great. THIS size M is skin tight, especially in the arms - feels like a small. The other pullover I returned was size L, as I wanted a tad more room to layer. It fit like a men's large, very boxy and huge (maybe it was a men's?) so I returned it.
Extremely cozy
Originally bought an XS (I am 5'4, 105lb) but sizing up for comfort was necessary. I exchanged for a small and it fits perfectly with room for an undershirt/tank top. It keeps me very warm and the quarter zip allows for ventilation in case temperature increases. It is perfect for laying underneath rain jackets for cooler weather. I love this pullover so much I am considering purchasing another one.
Wonderfully Soft, Light and Warm
As one would expect from REI and Patagonia, this light weight fleece is a versatile piece for late winter, early spring. It’s well made and comfortable and designed for a female figure. It’s been great for morning walks in the high 40’s here in Boise. Hope our weather settles so I can wear it more before the temps go up!
